Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 Sprint 1965

General description : Beautiful Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT 1965!
The forerunner of the racing cars which made history under the name "GTA". This stunning car is equipped with the famous Bialbero engine from 1600cc capable of delivering 106cv of pure fun!
The body, designed by a young Giorgetto Giugiaro, Bertone forces at the time, had a streamlined design, which gave sportiness and elegance.
This specimen had only 2 owners from new, the first who bought it new, an Italian army officer, and the second, an avid collector of Alfa Romeo cars.
The body in the fantastic original color "Bluette", is in good shape, has never had any accidents, all metal sheets are original and have never had welds.
The engine, still original first plant, has been totally redone at specialized workshop, with replacement of the motor shaft, with a new and original. All documented by photos and invoices.
The interior was redone by the previous owner, as his, still preserved, had faded by time. The carpet is still the original, as well as panels, and impossible to find in beige rubber mats covering the carpets!
All mechanical works perfectly, the car is fun to drive, fun and comfortable.
The gearbox is fully functional and shows no abnormality.
The "Sprint Classic" tires are like new, they have been driven less than 1000km.
The plaques were rebuilt following an official radiation, because the previous owner did not know he could keep its original.
In support of the car, several bills of work carried out, the double factory keys and the instructions for use and maintenance.
A beautiful specimen of a car that has made automobile history, champion in competition, and whose legend is still alive today in the hearts of all fans ... Can't be missed!

About Alfa Romeo
Alfa Romeo was initially founded in 1907 in Naples to prepare a French origin Darracq-cars for sale in Italy.

The company did not fare particularly well, so the Italians investors took over the company, which was given the new name of the ALFA (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili) . Nicola Romeo took over the company in 1918 turning it into ALFA ROMEO.

In 1933 Alfa Romeo was rescued again this time by the government, turning Alfa Romeo into an instrument of Mussolini's Italy, a national emblem that produced luxorious cars for the rich.

However, pre WWII Alfa Romeo is best remembered by its classic Grand Prix cars;
The Vittorio jano designed Alfa Romeo P2 that won the inaugural Automobile World Championship in 1925, the sensational P3 which won its first race driven by Tazio Nuvolari at the Italian Grand Prix, 5 more Grands Prix that year by Nuvolari and Rudolf Caracciola,

As well as, those racing sports cars; the 6C 1750, that Tazio Nuvolari won the Mille Miglia in, the 8C 2300 that won the Le Mans 24 Hours from 1931 to 1934, and finally 8C 2900.
Alfa Corse closed for 1933 and eventually transferred them to Enzo Ferrari's now privatised 'factory' team Scuderia Ferrari

Post war Alfa Romeo might be best remembered by the all alloy Alfa Romeo Twin Cam Hemi engine produced from 1954 to 1994 or those 60's Italian films that all seem to present that quintesential Alfa Giulietta driven by The Carabinieri.

Today any classic Alfa Romeo make a great addition to an Italian car enthusiast's portfolio.
