Powering this '81 AMC Eagle for sale is a 5.0 Ford engine plucked from a fox body mustang. Topped with a carburetor and other add on goodies, you get the simplicity and throttle response of a carburetor, with the efficiency and smoothness of a roller cam 302. With all the minor add on goodies, this small block Ford engine is a real runner! Backing the peppy small block Ford is a T5 5-speed manual transmission, which is just begging to be taken through the gears. A custom short-shifter makes this car feel like a real street machine! The power is placed to the pavement via a 8.8" Ford rear end with 3.73 gears. The gears churn a set of Cobra style wheels paint black with a polished lip, wrapped in performance radial tires. The complete Mustang drivetrain makes this a real power wagon! To make this Eagle even more reliable, the Mustang front suspension was fabricated to the existing suspension, as well. This makes for a rack and pinion steering set-up with power disc brakes that makes this Eagle one great cruiser! The exterior is low and mischievous, in a sinister shade of gunmetal, with satin black trim. Looking at the custom made front grill, you'd swear it just drove out of a Mad Max film. With boxy and edgy lines, this muscle wagon has an 80s look mixed with a modern flair. The custom made tilt hood is just one of the custom pieces that really sticks out to others when showing. The interior follows suit, with a custom tan and black vinyl/cloth based interior. With sport buckets up front and a bench in the back, this wagon has a sports car feel and a family car appeal all rolled into one! Add in the woodgrain steering wheel and you even have a touch of class!
