Austin-Healey 100 /6 BN6 Roadster 1958

General description : Hard to Find 1958 Austin-Healey 100/6 BN6 Roadster: Sought-After 2-Seater ModelThis 1958 Austin-Healey 100-6 BN6 is a hard to find and sought after 2-Seater model. Black with black interior and factory overdrive. It runs and drives and is highly original. A solid and straight example for simple cosmetic recommissioning. Introduced in 1956, the 100/6 represented the most radical step forward in the Big Healey's development. Despite its initial success, sales of the original Austin-Healey 100 had begun to decline by the mid-1950s and so the model was revamped as the '100/6' with a 2.6-litre 6-cylinder replacing the original four-cylinder engine. The pushrod six produced 102bhp - 12bhp more than its predecessor. The 100/6 was distinguishable by its 'crinkle' radiator grille and bonnet-top air intake. This particular 2-Seater 100/6 BN6 Roadster is not to be overlooked by any Austin-Healey collector or enthusiast.   Price: $32,500

About Austin-Healey
Austin-Healey was a British sports car make created as a joint-venture between the Austin division of the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and the Donald Healey Motor Company.

First Healey model, Healey 100, was based on Austin A90 Atlantic mechanicals and developed by Donald Healey to be build in-house. They finished a single Healey Hundred for the 1952 London Motor Show. Leonard Lord, managing director of Austin was so impressed by the design that a deal was duly struck with Healey and the car was renamed the Austin-Healey 100 overnight. Austin Healey was born. 100 derived into 100-six, and different 3000 versions before they quit the production in 1968 as the basic design had finally become obsolete.
