Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Indianapolis is proud to present this 1971 Buick Centurion. The 1971 Buick Centurion replaced the Wildcat as the mid-line full-sized Buick positioned between the lower-priced LeSabre and the larger and more luxurious C-body Electra 225, the Centurion was promoted more as a mid-level luxury car than the Wildcat, which was marketed as a sporty/luxury performance car. The interior trim was upgraded from LeSabres with a notchback bench seat including center armrest standard equipment along with more luxurious vinyl upholstery. Under the hood is a 455 CID V8 big block. To move this beast down the road is a TH400 3 Speed automatic transmission. This Centurion has the Sandpiper color on the outside and the Saddle vinyl interior. Buick, today an American automobile division of the American manufacturer General Motors (GM), was founded in 1899 as the Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company, making it the oldest car make in the US.
To us, the most memorable models in Buick's line up have to be the late 40's Roadmasters and 60's stylish Rivieras with strong Italian influences.
