Buick Special 1938

General description : GR8 BUILD, EFI 350 V8, TH350 AUTO, COLD A/C, FRONT DISCS, UPGRADED SUSP, NICE!!

We're seeing more and more "dare to be different" hot rods, and if you have a taste for a little luxury with your performance, this 1938 Buick Special deserves a closer look. With modern paint, a custom A/C interior, and a fuel-injected V8 heart, this is everything great about being a touch different.
General Motors had some of the best looking bodies around in the late 1930s, and Buick was the cream of the crop. Its handsome dual grille coordinates nicely with the wide flowing fenders and cool bullet-shaped headlights to give it a very substantial presence. And the expertly deleted bumper gives everyone a terrific view of this front end when you arrive. The bright plum paint certainly makes the Buick a real attention-grabber, and it nicely sets up the bright slats in the hood and full-length trim. The coupe body means the rear end was allowed to develop into one of the most streamlined designs of the era. And the modern Buick logo and bright dual tailpipes are more reminders that someone built their dream. The final touch of this custom build is an aggressive set of Weld wheels.
Inside the custom treatment continues with dual power bucket seats that are covered in gray and purple cloth. This color scheme is repeated on the door panels, rear storage, and headliner for a great uniform appearance. Even the trunk uses the same material, and have you noticed the old-school Buick script embossed on the inside lid? Yes, this is truly a thoughtful build. The exterior purple makes a return on the dash, and the classic components on there are nicely blended with modern upgrades such as the AM/FM/cassette stereo w/CD changer, power windows, and the ice-cold R134a air conditioning. You'll love grabbing the Lokar shifter with your right hand, and the custom steering wheel with your left one. Ahead of that, the full set of Dakota Digital gauges is a nice indication that there's something modern under the hood, too.
Everyone will love the look of this Buick's butterfly hood when it's open, and as they get closer, they will only be more impressed. The 350 cubic-inch V8 has so may polished components and sits in a color-matching engine bay, so we think it can win awards all on its own. But when you look beyond the flash, there's some serious substance. This is a performance crate motor with an Edelbrock Hi-Rise intake and Fast electronic fuel injection (the programmer for this also included with the sale.) And while that produces big power, the total package all stays reliable with helpful components like the Mallory ignition, Mallory distributor, and electric fan. This is a fine cruising machine thanks to the TH350 three-speed automatic transmission that can handle all the enhanced power. Plus, power steering, front disc brakes, and an upgraded independent front suspension keep everything feeling great on the road.
Complete with restoration receipts, photo book, and a car cover, this Buick is a custom build that offers true distinction and all the right comforts. Something this quality and unique won't stay long in our showroom. Call now!!

About Buick
Buick, today an American automobile division of the American manufacturer General Motors (GM), was founded in 1899 as the Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company, making it the oldest car make in the US.

To us, the most memorable models in Buick's line up have to be the late 40's Roadmasters and 60's stylish Rivieras with strong Italian influences.
