Buick Super 455 V8 1949

General description : Description
This 1949 Buick Super is a true patina street machine with an upgraded suspension and a dual quad V8 lurking within. And while this has that cool sleeper look that we know you love, there are also the right upgrades, like air conditioning. So this has the distinct style, serious power, and even the right features to make it a fun classic.
The gray/green color of the car might as well be original to the car, because it has the ideal look of decades being worn-in. It's this true patina look that really sets this Buick apart from the moment in comes into view. And the lowered stance on the American Racing Torq Thrust wheels signals this is a Special is extra-special. Overall, this street machine classic style is absolutely understood. The Buick's design in '49 did a great job of blending classic elements with the new era of streamlined cars. The long fender lines extend through the door sheetmetal both on the front and rear. The form-fitting bumpers look great with just the right amount of patina to fit in with the overall untouched attitude of the body. And there are terrific details everywhere from the waterfall grille to the triple portholes in the fenders. So you have a car that looks totally vintage, and with plenty of style to get respect for all the modifications within.
The interior keeps the classic style going with two rows of extra plush cloth bench seats. In fact, there's almost a limo's worth of legroom in the back, and there's even a fold-down armrest for added comfort. And speaking of comfortable, the upgraded to cold-blowing R134a really keeps everyone happy. And while the Art Deco dash makes sure this always feels vintage from the driver's seat, they also added all the right pieces to give this the ideal cruiser feeling. That's why you have worthwhile upgrades, like the wood-rimmed steering wheel on a tilt column, Lokar floor shifter, auxiliary gauge trio, and a Bosch tach.
The piano-style hinge of the hood is always something that draws attention, and it's absolutely worth showcasing what's in the engine bay. While the straight-eight of these Supers made them desirable in classic times, it also left plenty of room for serious muscle. This is a 455 cubic-inch V8 from the era when Buicks had some of their most potent machines. And it that wasn't already enticing enough, the dual air screens signal this has a twin set out four-barrel carburetors feeding the big V8. Plus, if you really want to have people hear your motor upgrade, this has provisions for electric cutouts on the dual exhaust already in place (will need servicing.) Not only do you have a powerful motor, but also the right supporting components. That means a TH400 three-speed transmission that's stout enough to handle the power while also delivering nice automatic cruising. There's an upgraded tubular A-arm independent front suspension, ladder bars in the rear, power steering, and power brakes with discs up front.
Complete with build receipts and maintenance records, this is a cool custom Buick with patina style, big power, and all the right upgrades. That makes for a distinct and easy street machine that you need to get your hands on right now. Call today!!!

About Buick
Buick, today an American automobile division of the American manufacturer General Motors (GM), was founded in 1899 as the Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company, making it the oldest car make in the US.

To us, the most memorable models in Buick's line up have to be the late 40's Roadmasters and 60's stylish Rivieras with strong Italian influences.
