This 1971 Chevrolet C10 4x4 cuts an absolutely awesome appearance - aggressive enough to prompt fellow motorists to give it a wide berth and yet so well-detailed and put together they won't be able to look away from it as they do.
The early Chevy C10 stepsides were awesome- looking trucks to begin with, with their relatively short beds and wide stance giving them a stout, pitbull like appearance, and the medium blue metallic paint this '71 wears really does it justice. It's a really killer shade - magnetic, yet almost understated- and it equips this rugged truck with so much curb appeal you find yourself turning back around just one more time to get another look. A nicely-shaped, functional scoop sits on the hood to feed cold, dense air to the waiting engine below, and the contrasting black push bar up front and black lettering on the liftgate are great touches. Any encounters it's had with rough land haven't even begun to extract their toll - it remains very well-aligned and its collection of fresh trim adds to its vitality. With its muscular build, elevated stance and ultra-aggressive rubber at all four corners, it not only looks like it could defeat any obstacle in front of it, but also pound it into submission in the process if need be.
A lot of thought and work went into making the interior equal parts functional and eye-catching- it's a great environment from which to navigate this outstanding pickup. A pair of very comfortable, black vinyl buckets sit in place of the more common bench seat, and they straddle a matching center console that offers a lot of interior storage space and convenient cupholders. Just beyond the woodgrain steering wheel sitting on a CPP tilt column, the dash area features a stock cluster brought to top form and a show-stopping chrome glove box that bracket a retro-style AM/FM stereo with auxiliary ports that will broaden your audio options. Below there's an expanse of clean black carpeting, punctuated by a pair of diamond-pattern floor mats, and a B&M shifter sits within easy reach. The bed area in back is arrow straight on all sides, and its spray on Rhino liner has done its job to protect it from any scuffs or mishaps from shifting cargo.
This classic pickup is about as loaded for action as any you're likely to find, and a great assembly of top tier components give it the power to morph from a well-behaved frequent driver while on the asphalt to an absolute predator on more rugged terrain. A 350 cubic inch V8 sits under the hood, armed with Edelbrock aluminum heads and Edelbrock 4-barrel carb for plenty of power, and a roster of chrome components on hand to take the look of the engine compartment to a high level. The powerplant pairs with a versatile 4-speed 700r4 that's well-geared for both low-end acceleration and engine-sparing low revs at highway speeds and sounds great as it exhales out of its Flowmaster exhaust. With a Pro Comp lift kit providing outstanding ground clearance and a Dana axle up front to increase offroad durability, an easy flick of the 4-wheel drive lever empowers this beast to tackle anything in its path. Yet, when back on the pavement, its 4-wheel disc brakes and smooth power steering provide this Chevy with good road manners as it steamrolls on its 18" KMC Rochester wheels outfitted with Toyo M/T Open Country tires.
