Chevrolet Camaro 350 TPI 1989

General description : 1989 Chevrolet Camaro Iroc-Z  The 3rd generation of Camaros was introduced in 1982 and lasted until 1992.  They introduced hatchback bodies built on the F body platform as well as the first cars released with TPI engines.  The Z28 was still the top of the line model that is until 1985 when the Iroc-Z was introduced.  Influenced by the "International Race of Champions" the Iroc-Z was an optional package applied to the Z28 that incorporated improved performance, handling and a decal package.  In 1987 the Z28 model was dropped leaving only the base coupe Camaro and the Iroc-Z.  1990 marked the final year for the Iroc-Z and the return of the Z28 happened in 1991.  This very cool 1989 Iroc-Z is a great looking car and these are so fun to cruise around in.  It is painted in its original Black paint with all the appropriate Iroc-Z decals for that year.  It has the window vents on the rear hatchback which gives it a really cool look.  It also has the optional removable T-tops which give you the ability to drive it as a coupe or somewhat of a convertible.  Included in the sale is the original storage bags for those tops.  Part of the Iroc package is a lowered stance and the car really looks good riding on its original 5 spoke wheels.  Under the louvered hood sits the original 5.7 L 350 V8 motor.  This was the larger optional motor for this year and featured tuned port injection.  The only transmission option with the larger motor was the 700R4 automatic that shifts smoothly with no issues.  The standard rear axle ratio was 2.77 which they used in 1988 however this one was ordered with the RPO G92 performance package.  This changed it over to a 3.27 axle ratio and also included dual catalytic converter exhaust, 4 wheel disc brakes, an engine oil cooler, upgraded tires, a 145mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,500 rpm redline.  That makes this cool Iroc 1 of only 1,426 ordered with with the performance axle package.  There is only 1 level of package above this in terms of maximizing performance.  The interior is done in Gray cloth and features dual bucket seats sitting to each side of the original center console.  The console houses extra storage space, emergency brake handle, power window controls, and the automatic shifter.  The dash has a mostly stock layout except for the added aftermarket Sony AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth stereo.  In front of the driver sits a tilt column topped off with a custom Grant steering wheel.  This is a nice clean car throughout that needs nothing but a new driver to have fun with it.  This car has been SOLD!
