Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to present this 1979 Chevrolet Corvette. The 1979 Corvette set an all new sales record of 53,807 units. GM has been regularly improving the Corvette over the years weather it was performance or cruising comfort. The car has had many transformations over the years, being a radical muscle car to compete with Europe's lineup for a comfortable cruiser after the horsepower war came to an end. The '79 is a result of many years of refinement being that the C3 generation debuted in 1968. There are many companies specializing in Corvette parts and accessories making any maintenance, upgrades or personalization readily available. This Corvette is well kept with 79,468 miles on the odometer and only having normal maintenance items tended to and stored in the garage. The previous owner, owned the car for over 25 years and mentions a 320HP 350ci motor was installed around 30,000 miles ago. The car is still wearing its original color combination of White over Oyster leather and is equipped with Power windows, Air Conditioning, Power brakes, Power Steering, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, Leather seats, T-Tops, Rally Wheels and an AM/FM radio with CD player. Recent services include: new starter, new battery, new radiator and brake work. If you've never ridden in or driven a third generation Corvette, it should definitely be on your to do list. The gauges are laid out like a fighter jet and looking out the windshield you'll see those beautiful fenders curving up and the long nose shooting ahead. The independent rear suspension and dual exhaust make for a very exciting and unique ride!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
