Through input from Group Lotus, the ZR1 came equipped with a specialty-built aluminum V8 engine developing 375HP and capable of a 4.4 second 0-60mph time.

The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 came equipped from the factory with upgraded braking and steering systems, adjustable ride control, and a unique air management system that allowed for additional control of the intake runners and fuel injectors. A stock ZR1 set seven international and world records at a test track in Texas on March 1, 1990.
