Chevrolet LUV V-8 Small Block 1980

General description : Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a one of a kind Chevrolet LUV truck! The LUV truck was sold under the Chevrolet name throughout the 1970s and early 1980s. These "Light Utility Vehicles" (LUV) were small and fuel efficient and made great cheap reliable transportation. Since there are newer versions such as the Chevrolet S10, the old LUV trucks are a fun foundation for customization. This LUV has been completely transformed. Long gone is the inline 4 that would've come stock in the truck. That has been pulled to make room for a 1992 LT1 350 CID V8 that is a real screamer. The engine has aluminum heads, a performance intake, and a Speed Demon 750 Carburetor. With this set up it is believed to make around 400 horsepower. Backing the LT1 is a Muncie 4 speed manual transmission and a 10 bolt rear end. To bring all of this power to a stop, power disc brakes have no issue slowing this lightweight truck. The body is coated in bright yellow which really pops. The bed was custom built and has an air lifted dump feature (a big hit at any car show). This truck has an appeal to those wanting to show it, as well as those wanting to go burn up the streets. You can see this awesome 1980 Chevrolet LUV in greater detail in our St. Louis showroom or at http://www.GatewayClassicCars.com. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
