Chevrolet Malibu 540 V8 1970

General description : Description
This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu defines what clean and mean is. This has classic hardtop lines with a very factory sleeper look. But beneath the sleek matte finish lies a performance-built 540 cubic-inch big block. And the more you dig into the details, the more you see all the right supporting components that gets the power to the pavement.
The first impression of this one is all about flying under the radar. The matte green has a similar tone to the colors that defined the 1970s. It has the look of a clean slightly up-market Malibu coupe that didn't come with many options because grandma never wanted many anyway. And it has the kind of extra-clean body lines that suggest she only drive it to church and always parked in the back lot. They even left the 307 callouts on the front fender. But some of us know a little better, and we can spot the cowl induction hood and big exhaust tips. They hint at this coupe's true powerful nature. And while the dog dish hub caps are all about a budget car, keen eyes also see they're hiding a serious set of meaty Mickey Thompson tires in the rear.
The black interior upholds the sleeper style with just a well-presented look on the door panels, headliner, and carpeting. The two wide rows of bench seating even have the correct premium trim. The Delco AM/FM radio is even still there for display. But none of that is what you really first saw when opening the door. The upgraded sports steering wheel (w/power steering), Innovate Motorsports air/fuel readout, and TCI ratchet shifter are not the kind of things you'd find in grandma's car. And when you twist the key, there's a thunderous growl and the full digital gauges light up.
Under the hood is a true beast, and it looks just as well done as the rest of this coupe. It's a monster 540 cubic-inch big block. And while the displacement is enough for some, it has been enhanced further with AFR aluminum heads, a Dart intake, and a Holley four-barrel carburetor. The Hooker long tube headers add even more power while also contributing to the rumble of the X-pipe dual exhaust. And as you look closer, you'll see all the right supporting pieces, like an MSD distributor, steel braided lines, AN fittings, and a large aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The TH400 three-speed automatic transmission is a stout unit built for big power, and it feeds a 12-bolt 3.73 Positraction rear end for confident all-around performance. There's new shocks, sway bars front & rear, strong tubular rear arms, and large front disc brakes.
You already know how clean and cool this muscle Malibu is. So if you love being different and powerful, don't let this hardtop slip away. Call today!!!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
