Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is excited to present a 1968 Chevrolet Nova Restomod built by Speedtech Performance. This is a real beauty of a car, painted in gorgeous deep Red metallic paint, Built to the nines with a full all-around package. top to bottom, this 1968 Nova Restomod does not disappoint.
Third-generation Chevy II's have always been a favorite among die-hard Chevrolet muscle car fans and for good reason. They simply have that no-nonsense look and a stance that tells you that this car means business. The Nova Super Sport (SS) was transformed from a trim option, into a full-blown performance package in 1968. It was one of the smallest muscle cars ever fielded by Detroit, but don't let the small stature fool you. These bad dudes were potent! , this Nova SS was extensively restored & upgraded to an extremely high level. All great restorations/builds start w/ great bodywork and this Nova is no exception. The fit & finish is beautiful and the body panels fit all of the way around the car. They spent more than 200 hours preparing, block & wet sanding the now show quality body, and then they applied three base coats, two exterior coats, and two bottles of ‘Pearl while painting this Nova SS. The paint was from Dupont and the color is 2006 Corvette Monterey Mist Metallic. This color is absolutely stunning and literally explodes in the sunlight. You really have to see this car in person to fully comprehend how beautiful it really is. All of the chrome, stainless trim & body molding was either replaced or replated and is in show condition throughout. The plan was to keep the interior as subtle, w/ several modern amenities added for creature comfort. New seats, headliner, carpeting, dash pad and door panels were installed giving it that nice appearance. Added features include Power Windows, Flaming River 32" tilt steering column, Vintage Air Conditioning, and Alpine AM/FM/CD/MP3/USB Custom Stereo System w/Performance Teknique 800 Watt Power Amp w/ (4) Pioneer Speakers & MTX 10" Sub-Woofer.

Speedtech was given this car by the current owner of 15 years, and they removed all the stock suspension. They installed their Road Assault front suspension including our tubular upper and lower control arms, billet tie rod adjuster sleeves, Viking hybrid double adjustable Coilover Shocks, and tubular Sway Bar. Wilwood 6 piston calipers wrapped around 13" rotors wrapped up the front. OutBack they ditched the leaf springs and installed their famous Torque Arm rear suspension which incorporates articulating trailing arms, Viking double adjustable Coilover Shocks and an adjustable Panhard bar. This gave the Nova a great stance, a much-needed improvement in handling, and a bit of a kick from the engine bay. They got serious with the drive train and stopping power. The first step was a mini tub and narrowing the 12 bolt so the Nova could tuck some 325s up in there on Custom B Forged 18×12" wheels. Next up was removing the front subframe for cleaning and a repaint, while the firewall got smoothed, holes filled, and sprayed a contrasting shade of body color red with a satin clear. All this to make room for a 525hp GM Performance Hot LS3 crate motor and backed that with a T56 6-speed transmission. Speedtech also converted it to a rear steer power rack and pinion and added Wilwood's 4 piston rear calipers on 13" rotors to bring all the power to a stop. Then the entire interior got stripped and redone with new seats, custom gauge panel, new carpet, and custom center console.

What they ended up with is a beautiful show-winning car that hauls the mail and sets fire to the corners. Oh, and it cruises like a daily driver too, with AC, Power Steering, awesome radio, and jaw-dropping looks.

About Chevrolet Nova
The Chevy Nova is a compact car that was produced by Chevrolet from 1962 to 1979, and again from 1985 to 1988. While it was not initially marketed as a muscle car, it was offered with a range of powerful engines that made it a popular choice among enthusiasts.

In particular, the Nova SS (Super Sport) was a high-performance version of the car that was equipped with a range of performance upgrades, including larger engines, heavy-duty suspension, and upgraded brakes. The most notable engine options included the 327 cubic inch V8 and the 396 cubic inch V8, both of which produced impressive horsepower figures.

The Nova SS was a popular choice for drag racing, and it became a symbol of the burgeoning muscle car scene in the 1960s. It was known for its simple and lightweight design, which made it a popular choice among racers looking to modify and tune their cars for maximum performance.

Today, the Chevy Nova is still a popular classic car, with enthusiasts drawn to its simple and stylish design, as well as its impressive performance capabilities. While it may not be as well-known as some of the more iconic muscle cars from the era, the Nova remains a significant part of American automotive history and a beloved classic among collectors and enthusiasts.
