Gateway Classic Cars is proud to offer this incredible one-owner, 15,662-mile 1981 Chrysler Imperial for sale in their Indianapolis showroom. This must one of the lowest mileage ’81 Imperials we’ve ever seen! Originally used as a Chrysler executive car in Auburn Hills, Michigan, this Imperial was delivered to a Chrysler dealer in late 1981. It was there the Imperial found a home as part of the dealer’s personal collection of cars, and was only driven on rare occasions, and never in bad weather. In 2016 the dealer passed, and his collection, including this incredible car, was sold. The current owner has meticulously cared for this beauty ever since, logging fewer than 4,000 miles since acquiring the car. In May of 2016 a temperamental EFI system was replaced with a far more reliable Chrysler carburetor system. The conversion package was professionally installed with adherence to Chrysler’s detailed instructions. Included with the 207 individual parts affiliated with the EFI conversion was a new digital dash module. Because of that upgrade, the digital odometer was reset to “zero”, however, the current owner has the original components, and documentation, to validate the mileage. This Imperial has the appearance of a new car, inside and out. Except for the power antenna, all the factory equipment still works as it should. Cold A/C, AM/FM/Cassette, cruise control, full power options, and fully functioning digital dash. This is a remarkable car, and one you’ll be proud to call your own.
