MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this rare 1950 Ford Custom sedan. This custom “shoebox” with over $21,000 in build receipts and resided with the same loving family for 17 years. Member of numerous hot rod associations such as Goodguy Rod and Cstoms Assoc, Lincon Land Kustoms and H.A.M.B. (Hokey A** Message board) Jalopy Journals for street rods…the previous owner was a hot rodder and it shows though the quality details of his car!
For the 1949 model year, the Custom nameplate was used for the top trim level in Ford’s range automobile. It was part of the completely new redesign of Ford cars after the war. In 1950, the name was changed to Custom Deluxe.
Finished indarkblue metallic, this sedan shows extremely well. The hood is period correct louvered with the headlights receiving a period Frenched treatment All the trim is present, complete and displays. The front and rear bumper’s fit is tight and finish is exquisite. The weather-stripping is pliable, with little or no signs of drying, tearing or shrinkage. The car has a slight window tinting that compliments and completes the “sport” appearance. Aftermarket collision light mounted in the parcel shelf.
Inside, the rich blue vinyl front split seats and rear seats show very nice The matching blue door panels, carpet and dashboard are a continuation of the striking dark blue exterior of the car and look fantastic. The Autometer Pro comp speedometer and tachometer are placed correctly in a custom “Frenched” style dashboard, appearance and function as designed. The custom built wood console houses the VDO gauges, (fuel, oil pressure, vacuum, water temp and voltmeter) and the B&M shifter. The original Ford steering wheel is in good condition and functions as designed.
This nicely represented Ford comes equipped with a Custom Honda 2 ear alternator for this performance 351cid Cleveland BBF V8 cylinder engine, performance headers by “Ed” Henneman mated to a C4 automatic transmission with B&M Quick Silver Shifter. The suspension consist of a 4 inch drop kit by “Fat Man Fabrication”. Driver assist features include power steering and power brakes. The wheels are 15-inch chrome reverse with full chrome hub caps and Firestone tires.
If you’re allergic to compliments and being gawked at, then this ’50 Ford custom sedan isn’t for you. About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
