Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to present this 1988 Chevrolet K3500 Scottsdale. The C/K was Chevrolet and GMC's full -size pickup truck line from 1960 until 2000 in the United States, from 1965 to 1999 in Canada, from 1964 to 2001 in Brazil, and from 1975 to 1982 in Chile. The first Chevrolet pickup truck was introduced in 1924, though in-house designs did not appear until 1930. "C" indicated two-wheel drive and "K" indicated four-wheel drive. The aging C/K light-duty pickup truck was replaced with the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra names in 1999 in the United States and Canada, and 2001 in Brazil; the Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD heavy-duty pickup trucks followed. Until this time, the names Silverado and Sierra were used to identify the trim level of the C/K trucks. Development of these trucks began around 1984 and were introduced in April 1987 as 1988 models (known as the GMT400 platform, and their nickname: OBS (Old Body Style) Chevy or GMC). This stout K3500 Scottsdale is powered by a 454CI V8 linked to a 4-speed 700R4 transmission. Backed by a clean Carfax, this rarely seen single-cab K3500 shows just 53,656 miles on the odometer. The paint is said to be original to the truck and shows nicely as a factory two-tone Red with a Silver lower half. The Scottsdale features of chrome bumpers and mirror caps add some nice flare as you move around the exterior. Inside this pickup you'll see a well maintained, original red cloth interior as it left the assembly line. Additional features include: Air conditioning, AM/FM radio, Cloth interior, Cruise Control, Power brakes, Power steering, Seatbelts and a Tilt steering wheel. Recent services from the current owner include a new A/C compressor and A/C system check.

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
