Ford F1 1948

General description : NICE CUSTOM, 350 V8, TH350 AUTO, A/C, CHOPPED, PWR STEER/BRAKES, NICE PNT/INT!!

We could tell you how special a 1949 Ford F-1 is because it's the first year for the Ford F-Series pickups, but you can tell this one is far more unique than just its history. As you look over every inch of this truck, you realize it has been customized from every angle so that it grabs attention – you even can tilt the hood forward from a remote switch on the key fob! So check out the paint, interior, custom suspension, performance V8, and all the other pieces that make this custom an irresistible buy.
Take your time looking over the exterior, because someone sure took their time creating the custom look. No one will mistake this F-1 for a workhorse with six-inches shopped from the cab, shaved bumpers, and the aggressive stance that's aided by the American Racing Torq Thrust wheels staggered at 16/17-inch front/rear. All of this is amplified thanks to an investment in a modern orange that's so electric we wouldn't be surprised it if glowed at night. As the clearcoat shine draws people in, the pinstriping will have them checking out every inch of the straight sheetmetal. The yellow and black lines start by mimicking the old hood vents, run down the cab, and accent some of the best lines of the bed. And as people check that out, they'll also appreciate the details, like the fresh wood in the truck bed, shaved door handles with poppers, LED taillights, and a cool graphic of this pickup painted on the tailgate. Oh yeah, this one is out to win over everyone in the crowd.
Pop the remote door openers, and they reveal even more custom work on the inside. It starts with the black leather seats that have the kind of pillow-top comfort that almost looks like they came from a classic Lincoln. The orange piping matching the exterior color is the kind of thoughtful touch that wins awards. In fact, with the door panels, carpeting, headliner, and even the pinstriped dash all coordinating so nicely, it's a clear sign of good planning and a solid investment. Plus, you get the right kinds of comforts from the power seats, heat/defrost, and amplified AM/FM/CD stereo with aux input so you can play the most modern music players loud and clear. But the best treats are reserved just for the driver. The custom black and chrome steering wheel gives you a commanding view of the full set of VDO gauges, and you're also just a short reach away from the air ride controls.
When people see the electric operation of the clamshell hood, they are going to expect something impressive in the engine bay...and this one doesn't disappoint! You can instantly see this pickup has earned its aggressive paint with its performance 350 cubic-inch V8 under the hood backed by a TH350 automatic transmission. With the clamshell hood cutting low into the engine bay, everyone gets a good look at the dual plenum air grabber, cast valve covers, and all the other shining components. But have you picked up on the cool way the block and chassis match the yellow in the pinstripe? Yes, this is that much of a thoughtful build! More than just look great, the Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and long tube headers give this V8 a serious added dose of power. And the world can easily hear it, too, thanks to the glasspack-style side pipe exhaust. As you check out the undercarriage, you're going to spot the right upgrades like an independent front suspension, three-link rear, and airbags out back. Add in power steering, front disc brakes, and new Dunlop performance tires, and this is a great all-around cruising classic.
A custom pickup built to grab all the attention, and it has the right features to be comfortable even on the long trips. That's a recipe for being known at all the car shows, and this one is ready to start this weekend, so don't miss out. Call today!!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
