Ford F1 351 Windsor 1948

General description : 1948 Ford F1 Pickup If a classic Ford pickup is what you are after then this is one to take a long close look at because opportunities like this don't come up very often.  We get that there are other Ford F1s out there for sale but this 48 pickup just had it's full restoration completed only 9 miles ago.  It doesn't get much fresher than that!  Possibly the biggest selling point is this pickup is being offered up for only $34,750.00.  There is no way you could go out, find a similar truck and then have it restored for those dollars.  This is a chance to get a brand new, never shown, freshly built truck for a fraction of what it should cost you.  This is no amateur build either because when it comes to these old pickups, this guy knows what he is doing.  It was built with the perfect combination of vintage style with modern comforts to make it not only look great but be road worthy and ready to take anywhere.  The body on the truck is very straight and entirely rust free.  The Flame Red paint really pops out in the sun and is perfectly accented by the White front headlight/grill section and wheels.  All of the chrome and stainless is new and shines beautifully.  A custom rear roll pan was added and looks like it should have been a factory feature because it fits with the body lines so perfectly.  One of the coolest features on these old trucks is the bed and this one was very well done.  It has all new polished stainless bed strips and hand selected Oakwood slats that just look gorgeous next to each other.  The steel wheels have been powder coated which looks great and will last you a very long time because of how well powder coated holds up.  Under the hood of this pickup is a 351 Windsor motor which should put a smile on all those Ford fan's faces.  We get that the classic 350 is a great fit for many rebuilt classics but it always pleases us to see a rebuilt Ford done the right way with a Ford motor.  The engine compartment is all show ready with the inner fenders and firewall painted the same gloss Red as the exterior.  A lot of the motor components are painted Red creating a beautiful mix of Red and chrome.  It is topped off with a reproduction Cadillac air cleaner for a slight custom touch.  Keeping with a clean look a custom battery box was made to hide the battery which is often a eyesore next to nice motors like this.  Paired with the engine is a C4 automatic transmission that shifts smoothly and transfers power back to the 9 inch Ford 2:73 rear end.  When we say frame off restoration we mean it because every component of this truck has been gone through.  The suspension has been upgraded with TCI components up front and Chassis Engineering leaf springs in rear.  The truck was also upgraded with front disc brakes which are power assist, power steering, and electric wipers.  It has dual exhaust with chrome tips that exit right under the custom roll pan and they deliver a great sound.    The interior is finished out in a Taupe ultra leather and the upholstery work was all done by Sean Cook.  If you have been in the classic car world long there is no doubt Sean Cook has come up and it is a name associated with some of the highest quality interiors out there. The bench seat is very comfortable and fitted with lap belts done in a matching color.  The dash is painted to match the exterior and utilizes a custom built drop section which houses the AM/FM/CD player and vents for the Old Air AC/Heat system.  Classic Instruments Vintage gauges sit in front of the driver along with a custom 1940 15 inch steering wheel that tops off the Ididit column.  Take advantage of this builders hard work by buying the truck complete instead of dealing with the hassle of getting one built yourself.  You won't have much luck finding one this nice for these dollars so check it out while it is still available.  It won't be around long for only $34,750.00!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
