1947 Ford Tudor Custom Cars started getting faster and the looks drastically changed. Suddenly, the completely separated fenders were more fused into the body, giving the cars a more streamlined look. The humpback body style became popular and similar to what you would see in a lot of old mobster movies. This 1947 Ford is no different having one of the coolest looks out there. This car came from a private collector and was extremely well done and looks much more luxurious and sleek nowadays than it looked back in 47. The steel body is painted in a custom Grey metallic and was very well done. The custom grey metallic paint looks great and is accented with all the bright chrome. Down the side of the car is a very clean stainless accent that is straight and in great condition. The front grill is unique for the cars of these years. The headlights and taillights on the car have been “frenched', which drastically changed the look. The '47 had a frame-off restoration which makes it one of the nicest out there. This car has an awesome appearance rolling down the road and turns heads everywhere you drive it. The ‘47 sits on beautifully polished chrome wheels that are wrapped with fresh (P195/65 R15-front, P225/70 R15-rear) BF Goodrich radial tires. This car is very dependable and has the drive train to back up that statement. It was constructed with only the best so not only will it last but it runs extremely well. The 302 V8 with fuel injection packs plenty of power and has a Ford AOD automatic with overdrive. All brackets and engine components are detailed and nicely polished with all hoses nicely routed. The power brake booster is chrome to match the engine, and the entire engine compartment is painted to match the rest of the car. Power steering is also in place. The rear on the Ford is a 9" rear end (3:55 gear ratio). A Mustang front suspension is in place which is a top of the line unit that works perfectly under this style of car. The Ford AOD automatic transmission shifts nice and smooth. The interior of the car is beautifully done and looks like it belongs in a modern luxury vehicle. It is all done in deep red leather and is in perfect condition. The carpet looks new and shows very little use. The front bucket power seats are from a Mercury Montego and are very comfortable as is the back bench-seat which is from an Impala. The dash is all new and has new gauges and wiring from Painless Systems and is very cool and all custom. The console is covered in red leather as well and sits nicely between the bucket seats. The center console has the Vintage air conditioning which blows cold, the new Clarion AM/FM/CD stereo system which supplies great sound. The Ididit tilt steering column is painted to match the car and is topped with a custom polished steering wheel. The ‘47 is also equipped with power windows, power seats, electric doors, electric trunk and has tinted glass.

You will not find another 47 Ford quite like this one! Call or email with any questions!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
