Jaguar XJS Tom Walkinshaw Racing 1980

General description : Collector"s item! This "80 Jaguar XJS V12 in British Racing Green and original grey leather interior was restored thoroughly in the late nineties. It"s an exact copy of the TWR edition, the XJS which was used by the famous drivers Tom Walkingshaw and Win Percy in 1985 in Bathurst. The makeover was executed by Roger Phillips, reputable classic car specialist in New Zealand and the master mind behind the DNZ Classic.

Roger invested especially in the improvement of the mechanical part of the car. The V12 engine was tuned with an open exhaust system and open air filter, giving this Jag an incredible sound and 340 HP of power. The suspension was updated to Nolathane bushes and a new set of shock absorbers. Ventilated brake discs and 17 inch XJ-R wheels couldn"t lack of course. The original 3-gear GM400 turbo automatic transmission was improved with a shiftkit, allowing manual gear switch as well. All the above results in a top speed of about 250 km/h! According to experts, this should be the fastest XJS available in the market. Some rounds on the race track, or a casual rally, this Jag likes it all! No miracle that this car was the pace-car in the wellknown "Drive NZ Classic" in 2009. Furthermore, she was an eyecatcher on Jaguar Belgium presentations but also on request of the Jaguar Owners Club on favored car events like the "Antwerp Classic Salon".

It should be clear now that this XJS has a marvellous history, which was even documented in multiple magazines (New Zealand Classic Car October 2009 and Auto Motor Klassiek October 2013). The car has a Belgian title and can therefore be registered easily in every European country. The displayed driven distance is expressed in miles.

About Jaguar XJS
The Jaguar XJS is a grand tourer produced by Jaguar from 1975 to 1996. It was designed as a replacement for the popular Jaguar E-Type, but instead of a sleek sports car, the XJS was a more luxurious and refined grand tourer.

Initially, the XJS was powered by a 5.3-liter V12 engine that produced up to 295 horsepower, giving it impressive performance for a car of its size and weight. Later versions of the XJS also offered a six-cylinder engine option, as well as a supercharged V6 engine.

The XJS featured a distinctive design that was updated over the years, with notable changes including the addition of a convertible model and the introduction of a four-seat option. It also offered a number of luxurious features, such as leather seats, wood trim, and air conditioning.

Despite its luxury focus, the XJS was also a capable performance car, with notable wins in the European Touring Car Championship and the Australian Touring Car Championship. It also served as the basis for the Jaguar XJR-15, a limited-production supercar.

Today, the Jaguar XJS is a popular classic car, with enthusiasts drawn to its distinctive design and impressive performance. Its luxurious features and refined ride also make it a popular choice among collectors looking for a comfortable and stylish grand tourer.
