Mit diesem kleinen Lagonda Rapier können wir den Freunden der Marke Lagonda etwas ganz Besonderes bieten. Lagonda lieferte in den Jahren 1934 bis 1935 in einer Stückzahl von 470 Einheiten ausschließlich Fahrgestelle, die dann bei verschiedenen Karossiers ihren Body erhielten.Die weit überwiegenden Fahrzeuge erhielten ihre Karosse von der Firma Abbot. Auch dieses Fahrzeug verfügt über einen Abbot Open-Tourer Body. Es handelt sich also um ein 90 Jahre altes Originalfahrzeug mit der Originalkarosserie, keinesfalls zu verwechseln mit den vielen „Specials“.Der kleine 4 Zylindermotor mit nur 1.104 ccm und 45 PS ( 33kW) ist ein echtes Hightech-Aggregat der 30er Jahre. „A High-Efficiency Eleven Hundred“ schrieb die „The Autocar“ in ihrem Testbericht aus dem Jahre 1934. Schon optisch erinnert er mit seinen beiden obenliegenden Nockenwellen an die späteren Alfa-Romeo Motoren. Das reichte schon damals für 125 km/h. Er gehörte damit damals zu den ganz schnellen. Dazu hat sicher auch das synchronisierte sequentielle Vorwahlgetriebe der Firma E.N.V. mit seinen 4 Vorwärtsgängen beigetragen. Kenner wissen, wie schön sich so etwas fahren lässt.Das Fahrzeug wurde in den 90er Jahren von einem Niederländischen Sammler liebevoll restauriert und verfügt über Niederländische Fahrzeugpapiere. Selbstverständlich liefern wir den Wagen auf Wunsch mit deutscher Zulassung und H-Kennzeichen.
