Lotus Esprit Turbo SE only 44.512 km, only 1.861 made! 1991

General description : This wonderful Lotus Esprit 2.2 Turbo SE aka X180 is one of the fourth generation cars. It was completely redesigned by Peter Stevens, who later went on to design the McLaren F1. It has the Lotus 910S 2.2 Turbo Charge-Cooled engine developing in excess of 264 Hp. This car represented not only most powerful, fastest but also the most expensive Esprit available. It was marketed as a serious contender for the likes of Ferrari and Porsche. It came with a walnut dash, leather trim, aircon and removable roof panel as standard. The synthetic bodywork was produced using a completely new method. Parts of the bodywork were reinforced with Kevlar, increasing the torsion stiffness by over 22%. Besides the price, the performance also headed in the direction of Ferrari and Porsche. With only a total issue of 1,861 vehicles it is more exclusive than your average Ferrari. This one has clocked up 44,512 km and remains in excellent and well maintained conditioned. The fine synthetic/ Kevlar bodywork is straight with perfect panel fittings. The underbody is also perfectly sound with no rust what so ever. The fine original leather trim has been well cared for. This is a unique, top-quality original, low-mileage Turbo SE Lotus! Gallery Aaldering is Europe’s leading Classic Cars specialist since 1975! About Lotus Esprit
The Lotus Esprit is a British sports car that was produced by Lotus Cars from 1976 to 2004. It was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and is widely regarded as one of the most iconic sports cars of the 20th century.

The Esprit was powered by a range of engines over the years, including a 2.0-liter inline-four, a 2.2-liter inline-four, and a 3.5-liter V8. It also featured advanced suspension and braking systems, with four-wheel independent suspension and disc brakes on all four wheels.

The Lotus Esprit was known for its exceptional handling and performance, with a top speed of up to 175 mph and acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 4.7 seconds. Its aerodynamic fiberglass body and mid-engine layout made it a popular choice among sports car enthusiasts of the time.

The Esprit was also featured in a number of popular films and TV shows, including the James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me," where it famously transforms into a submarine. Its unique design and exceptional performance make it a sought-after classic car today
