General description : 1963 Mercedes W112 300SE Coupe for sale

Exterior: The paint is nice even parts of it is believed to be the original. Also, chrome parts are in great condition. Windows have never been removed from this car, but rubber is still very good just like all glass. The W112 300SE is to me the best-looking coupe from Mercedes since it sits very low and has that chromed side trim making it look even longer and more sleek.

Please note that this is a 99% unwelded car! One very small patch was found in the floor, otherwise all original. Today rolling on a new set och Michelin tyres with a thin white stripe. This W112 300SE has one of those huge sliding sunroofs that is easy and fast to open with a manual handle. Sometimes life was so much easier, before everything had to be electrified. I personally do not like convertible cars. It is just too windy for me. However, I do like that feeling of seeing the sky when you drive and with a sunroof this big it feels like an open car to me.

Interior: Here we have an all original interior that is still in amazing condition. Yes, there are some cracks in the lacquer on the wood panels, and yes, the carpet is a little bit faded from the sun. But, the brick coloured leather is absolutely beautiful. Just like all chrome details and the instruments. You can truly feel the year 1963 when you sit inside and drive this car. I have had some of the best classic car experiences in a car like this, coming through the night over the mountains hearing that sweet six humming away km after km. What also is nice with the Mercedes 300SE Coupe is that you can fit normal people in the back as well. I have even driven a wedding couple with this car and could fit the bride and groom in the backseat.

Engine: I am pretty sure the odometer in this car has turned once, so it has around 150,000km in total as I write. The engine runs very nicely and there is no smoke. The car had been standing for some time when I found it. It was parked in 1995 and I started working on it in 2019. All fluids and filters were replaced. The tank was cleaned out properly and new seals were fitted to the fuel pump.

History: The car was registered in Sweden on the 16th of May 1973. So far, I have not been able to find out if the Mercedes W112 300SE was imported or had fallen out of the registry here in Sweden. But, the first registered owner, Siv Karlsson in Nybro, owned the car until 2013. It was taken out of traffic already in 2006 and was basically standing still until 2018. Then, I got the car in 2019. The W112 300SE comes with all invoices from the above mentioned work. Parts and labour done by local Mercedes mechanic. It still has the original tool roll, spare and jack. The car is still today in a very original state with a lot of feeling driving it. The mechanics of the car is now up-to-date and it is ready to be enjoyed and admired.
