Mini Cooper 998cc, "A" type 1975

General description : For sale is an original 998cc Austin Mini Pickup. It is not a Cooper in fact much more rare. This site had no category for this Mini. I imported this Mini Pickup from Yorkshire, England in 2009 and it still sports it's original British registration plates. It is right hand drive and in excellent mechanical shape. This is not a concours vehicle as it has a few minor blemishes on the finish, however it is most respectable for field meets, show and shines and as a fun driver. Very little body work (surface prep) and a respray would bring it up to a high standard. The body shell is very sound. This pickup is on BC collector plates which requires a standard of condition and originality. The vehicle has all new Moulton suspension cones, Hi Lo adjustable suspension kit installed with new knuckles and most hardware. New adjustable tie bars. CV joints have been rebuilt with new gators installed. Recent tires, speedo and choke cables, fuel tank, exhaust, battery and brakes including replaced shoes, wheel cylinders, front drums and all copper plumbing. The 998cc engine is very strong and has a lead free head. This pickup includes a new frame for a tilt cover or canvas canopy and has all of the attach points for both the tilt cover and a tonneau. Many new in box spares are included in the sale. Classic Mini's can quite easily be converted to left hand drive if desired. I like the novelty of right hand drive and it really makes no difference to driving in North America. It creates more interest at car shows to have the right hand drive and seams more correct for an English vehicle. Many more photo's and additional information available upon request. Thank you for looking.
