Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is excited to present this sharp 1999 Rover Mini Cooper 40th Edition. 1 of 800 Mini 40th Anniversary cars made and 1 of just 250 made in this color.
*Titled as a 1980 Austin Mini during importation*
This model also had the Rover CD player as standard. The Mini 40 was one of the most expensive Minis ever made and is now very collectible. This car was built post the BMW acquisition, so comes with an airbag, keyless entry, and other goodies standard. This example has been owned from new by its fanatical owner. It has never had any paintwork in 22 years and in great condition with low miles. The underside of the car is also totally factory original. It has attended many shows and has won top in class a few times here in Texas. The mini drives wonderfully. Recent work was performed on the car including new suspension all around. The genuine Dr. Alex Moulton rubber suspension cones are revolutionary and different from any other cone on the market. The front-specific and rear-specific cones are NOT intended for all 4 corners as front and rear cones are dissimilar. The front cones are designed to accommodate the weight and distribution of the engine and gearbox up front while the rear cones are designed for the lightweight rear of the mini. This master kit also includes fully adjustable hi-lo trumpets with knuckle joints, heavy duty on car adjustable lower control arms with polyurethane bushings and lower control arm pins, heavy duty on car adjustable tie rods with polyurethane bushings, front and rear KYB shock absorbers, rear camber and tow brackets, cone spring compressor tool. All of these components are extremely important if you are after the very top in handling and nimbleness of the classic mini allowing the easy adjustment of ride height on all 4 corners, and also allowing adjustment of front castor, front / rear camber, and tow.
