Pontiac Firebird 5.7L V-8 FI OHV 1997

General description : For sale in our Dallas showroom is this 1997 Pontiac Firebird Firehawk. A low mileage and low build number, this car was the 49th car built in 1997 by SLP. SLP was about performance, everything that SLP did to the cars they modified was about getting as much out of the car as possible. So what do you get with an SLP Firehawk? Most notably you get the functional ram air hood that helps get cool air to the intake providing more horsepower. Next is the exhaust, SLP’s own “Two On the Left” exhaust system with a unique muffler that utilizes SLP’s own design and sound. The stereo is the 500 watt Monsoon with cd player. The additional SLP options on this car are the 17x9 inch wheels, Firehawk Floor Mats, and Engine Oil Cooler Package. Included with the sale of this vehicle are the original shirt still in the bag and hat that were supplied when new. The documentation shows that this is a one of two cars with the exterior and interior color combination. The interior is in great condition as is the exterior. The factory options include, AC, AM/FM Radio, CD Player, T-Tops, Cruise Control, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Keyless Entry, ABS, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Driver Airbag, Passenger Airbag, Anti Theft, Cloth Interior, Performance Tires, and Aluminum Alloy Wheels. Position in GM Hierarchy:
Distinct Identity: Pontiac occupied a unique place within GM, known for its performance-oriented vehicles and youthful branding.

Iconic Muscle Car: Considered the first true American muscle car, blending performance and style.
Specifications: V8 engines, powerful performance, and aggressive styling made the GTO immensely popular.
Pontiac Firebird (1967-1981):
Muscle Car and Pony Car: Shared the platform with the Chevrolet Camaro, featuring distinct Pontiac styling cues.
Variants: Offered various models and engine options, including the Trans Am, which gained fame through movies like "Smokey and the Bandit."
Pontiac Grand Prix (1962-2008):
Personal Luxury Car: Initially a full-size car, later transformed into a mid-size model, known for its blend of comfort and performance.

Pontiac Bonneville (1957-2005):

Impact and Legacy:
Performance Image: Pontiac carved a niche for itself by emphasizing performance, sportiness, and innovation, attracting younger and enthusiast drivers.
Marketing Success: Innovative marketing strategies and successful racing endeavors contributed to Pontiac's popularity and brand image.
Cessation of Production: Unfortunately, due to financial constraints and changes in consumer preferences, GM discontinued the Pontiac brand in 2010, marking the end of its legacy in the automotive industry.
