Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Indianapolis is proud to present this 1964 Pontiac GTO. 1964 is what many consider the birth year of what many consider the original Muscle car. John DeLorean was chief engineer at the time and noticed the exploding HOTROD scene. Consisting of young men taking anything they could find stripping it down and stuffing the biggest engine they could in it to make it go fast. He loved the idea so much that he decided to stuff a 389 Tri- Power in a midsize Tempest with some better suspension, a set of rally wheels, and finally three little letters G T O. Little did he know history was writing itself and the GTO would go down as the G.O.A.T or greatest of all time. This example has been restored back to its original glory and is sure to take you back to a better time. Under the hood is a 389 with the 3 deuces sitting on top making this one of the hottest engines of its time. Matched up to a classic 300 Turbo transmission this is exactly what DeLorean dreamed of. A car from the factory that was basically saying get in, sit down, shut up and hold on. A quick peek inside reveals classic Pontiac with the interior reflecting what you would find in 1964. The vinyl buckets with shifters sticking out between them lets everyone know this isn't your Grandma's Tempest. Options on this 1964 Pontiac GTO are Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Rally Wheels, Radial Tires, Vinyl Interior, Seat Belts, and Posi Traction. 1964 Pontiac GTO is offered by our Indianapolis Showroom and can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at http://www.GatewayClassicCars.com.
