Description : Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1968 Pontiac Tempest Convertible! The Tempest was unveiled in 1960 for the '61 model year and was to compete in the entry-level compact class following the success of the Corvair. The car was well received and would become Motor Trend Magazine's "Car of the Year!" The Tempest would see many design changes with 3 true Generations spanning 10 years until 1970. There was a 4th generation made for Canada and Isreal when the name was reprised for a rebadged Corsica in the late 80s, but a purist won't talk about that. Here we have a very sharp '68 model Tempest Convertible, the first year of the 3rd generation! The Alpine Blue paint looks great. The power black soft top is in nice shape and is in working order. The black boot cover is present to cover the top when it is down and also looks good. The color really shows off the bold lines of this very well! The black vinyl interior looks comfortable and is in very nice shape. Under the hood is a rebuilt 350ci V8 with power running down through a rebuilt 2-speed automatic transmission. The car sounds nice and runs and drives out very well. The current owners have had her for over 22 years, acquired from a private owner. The title is clean and clear and ready to be transferred into your name now! This car is truly a sight to see, takes you back in time just looking at her! Put the top down, fire her up and head out for a fun night on the town. She is certain to turn heads anywhere you go. Options on this Tempest include: A/C, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Automatic Convertible Top, Vinyl Interior, AM/FM/CD Radio, Seat Belts, Custom Wheels, and Radial Tires.
