MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this extremely rare and seldom see 1985 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60. Recognized as one of the most collectable and desirable classic SUVs, this solid FJ has the added surprise and benefit of having been upgraded toa 350cid fuel-injected small block Chevy V8!
The Land Cruiser 60 series was produced from 1980 through 1990 for most markets. It is a front engine, four door wagon which can seat five to eight people. Like all Land Cruiser generations, it is well known in the off-road world for its off-road abilities. While still retaining the rugged off-road characteristics of previous Land Cruisers, the 60 was designed to better compete in the emerging sport utility vehiclemarket. The 60 was given a variety of comforts like air conditioning, a rear heater and an upgraded interior…this fuel-injected V8 powered FJ takes it a step further!
Finished in original Alpine white, this wagon shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. All the trim is present, complete and displays normal wear. The front bumper is equipped with the front brush bar, power winch and Hella driving lights, it fits extremely tight and finish is brilliant. The rear bumper with an optional trailer hitch mirrors the fit and finish of the front. The weather-stripping is pliable, with very little signs of drying, tearing or shrinkage. The rear fenders have been professionally “bobbed” back for clearance. The original 16 inch wheels present well with no signs marring and curb rash that we could find.
Inside, the original grey stripe cloth front bucket seats and rear seats appear in great shape with only slight visible wear. The matching grey door panels, carpet and dashboard are a contrast of the striking Alpine white exterior of the car and look fantastic. All factory gauges (including the altimeter and hill angle indicator) are ergonomically placed, have correct appearance and function as originally designed. This FJ is equipped with air conditioning which is currently inoperable. Additional gauges include three Autometer water, oil and transmission gauges(placed under the dash), horn is inoperable. The previous owner installed two starter buttons (under the dash and in the engine bay) in case you’re working on this FJ by yourself! The originally equipment steering wheel is in excellent condition and functions as designed. Upgraded Phase Linear AM/FM/DVD player with bridgeable power amplifiers and rear mounted sub-woofers.
This nicely represented FJ60 is equipped with a fuel injected 350 cid small black ChevyV8 engine, 4-speed automatic transmission, upgraded off-road suspension with 6″ Explorer # 16699 lift kit, 4-wheel drive with locking front hubs, safari engine snorkel and roof rack, spare fuel cans, power steering and power brakes. The wheels are Toyota 16 inch grey original steel rims with Maximus 255/85 off-road tires.
A lot of SUVs make the claim they’re built to take you anywhere. This Land Cruiser backs it up the claim with true outback expedition features like a 4 x 4 drive, long wheel base and a fuel injected Chevy V-8! … GET OUT AND DRIVE!…ER, EXPLORE!
It is sold as is on a clean & clear mileage exempt title. Odometer currently reads 273,778 miles

About Toyota
Toyota, a name that has become synonymous with reliability and sensibility in the world of automobiles. Let's take a leisurely stroll through the history of this remarkable Japanese marque.

Our story begins in the late 1930s when a modest textile machinery company, Toyota Industries, decided to dip its toes into the world of automobiles. It was a humble beginning, but little did they know that they were about to embark on a journey that would change the automotive landscape forever.

Fast forward to 1957, and we have the introduction of the Toyota Crown, a car that signaled Toyota's ambitions to compete on the global stage. It was sensible, well-built, and it set the tone for what Toyota would become known for - reliability.

But if we're talking about Toyota's foray into the world of high-performance sports cars, we can't ignore the Toyota 2000GT. Introduced in 1967, it was a thing of beauty. Sleek, low-slung, and powered by a silky-smooth inline-six engine. It was Japan's answer to the European sports car establishment, and it put Toyota on the map as a builder of more than just sensible family cars.

Then came the Toyota Celica in the 1970s, a sporty compact coupe that captured the hearts of many. It was affordable, fun to drive, and it helped establish Toyota's reputation for building cars that were both practical and enjoyable.

But if we're talking about Japanese sports cars that made a statement, the Toyota Supra deserves a special mention. First introduced in 1978, it became a legend in its own right. With its powerful inline-six engines and rear-wheel drive, it was a force to be reckoned with on both the street and the track. The Supra is a car that enthusiasts still drool over, even today.

And then, there's the Land Cruiser. It's not just an off-roader; it's an off-roader that can do anything a Land Rover used to do, only better. Introduced in the 1950s, it quickly gained a reputation for being virtually indestructible. Whether it's crossing deserts, jungles, or frozen tundras, the Land Cruiser can handle it with ease.

But perhaps Toyota's most significant achievement is its commitment to reliability and sensibility. They didn't just build cars; they built cars that people could depend on day in and day out. It's no surprise that you see Toyota's on the streets of every corner of the world, from Tokyo to Timbuktu.

So, there you have it, the history of Toyota, a company that started humbly but grew to become a global giant in the automotive industry. They've given us reliable, sensible cars, but they've also shown that they can build high-performance legends and off-roaders that conquer the toughest terrain. Toyota is a brand that proves you can have your sensible cake and eat it with a sprinkle of excitement on top.
