Manufacturers were now feeling comfortable again with performance ideas. Toyota wanted to unveil a new car to compete directly with the Datsun Z-Car. Toyota's new car would have to perform and needed a strong name to take them in this new direction. The name Supra was selected because in Latin its meaning can be derived as "to surpass," "above," or "go beyond." Little did they know the legend that this car would become. The Supra would see 4 generations up to 1998 and would not return until 2019 and is still in production today! This is an '88, a mid-3rd generation. The maroon paint is driver quality, she has provided lot of enjoyment on the road with her 118k miles but still has a luster to her. The targa top comes off and give you a nice balance between a coupe and convertible. Inside you'll find maroon cloth interior to match the exterior, it looks great and in good order. Under the hood is a 3.0L Inline 6-Cylinder Turbo engine with power at your fingertips through a 5-Speed Manual gearbox. Car runs, drives, and shifts out well and is a blast to drive! Power Steering rack replaced in 1992 @83k miles. Master Cylinder replaced in 1994 @ 89k miles. Timing Belt, H20 pump, R134a conversion done in 2008. Rear Axle Seals/Diff serviced @ just over 118k miles. She received a new A/C compressor recently, summer 2022. There are many more records and are backed up with receipts. Current owner has had her for over 30 years, acquired from a local dealer back in early 1992. Believed to be a 2-owner car. The Carfax is clean with no accidents.
