Bought by its last Dutch owner 10 years ago, with only 18,000 miles on the clock. Prior to this, the car had been on display in a private museum for 25 years. To date the car has only clocked up some 22,437 miles. The car has never required any restorative work and has always enjoyed excellent servicing and maintenance. The beautiful bodywork is straight and the panels fit together perfectly. The original interior trim has been extremely well looked after. The underbody is in similarly excellent and fully rust-free. This 4 Litre R version, with its aluminium Rolls-Royce engine, represents the absolute top of the range. This is the only mass-produced non Rolls-Royce to have a Rolls-Royce engine. The powerful 3,909 cc straight six has 2 SU carburettors, producing 175 Hp. The good power to weight ratio allows a top of 180 km/hr. In its day the 4 Litre R cost as much as a Jaguar MK X.
