This car was just one of 2,334 780s made in 1988 and it is only one of 8,518 copies made between 1985 and 1990.Finished in Champagne Silver, the paint is in very good condition, with just minor blemishes visible upon close examination. The glass panes are in very good order and the rear window comes with an electric defroster. Rolling on Michelin Primacy MXV43 tires, 205/60R15, at all four corners and wrapped around factory alloy vented wheels. All of the body panels on this car are straight and solid, the engine bay is very tidy and the battery looks new.Under the hood is a 2.8L V-6 engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Driver assist features include air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power locks, power mirrors, power windows and a remote trunk release in the glovebox.Inside, the cars gray interior is understated but has two eye-catchers; black seat inserts and light-colored woodgrain instrument and door trim that help balance the monotonous gray. Those seats are in very good order by the way, and the front buckets appear to have been designed by a team of chiropractors. Theyre wide, comfortable, have eight-way power adjustments and come with heating elements! The black carpet is in similar condition to the seats and the gray headliner is in good order. The instrument panel, with a full array of gauges, is in very good condition and the four-spoke steering wheel has an airbag. The door panels, center console and gearshift lever are all in good to very good shape. Another standout feature is between the front seats, a factory AM/FM stereo with cassette deck and a separate equalizer that was only found in recording studios in 1988. It spans a range from 60Hz to 10 kHz. Even the clock still ticks in this car! Most equipment on the car is believed to be original except for the battery, tires, tow hitch and protective headlight covers. Car has a clean vehicle history, no accidents, no negative reports, no manufacturer recalls. The Volvo 780coupdebuted at the International Auto Show in Geneva, Switzerland in 1985, marking Volvo's return to the two-door coup market following the departure of the262Cin 1981. The 780 became available in Europe in 1986 and in United States a year later. The hood, trunk, and rooflines were all slightly lower than the standard 700 series profile, and the C-pillar was wider and had a more gradual slope down to the trunk. Headroom was improved over the 262C because of Bertones onecentimeter lowering of the roofline. Window frames all had black matte trim, and were accented with chrome. Chrome also highlighted the door handles, bumpers, and side moldings.Competition to this Volvo 780 in 1988 included Acuras Legend, Infinitis M30, Mercedes-Benzs 300 CE Coupe and Cadillacs Eldorado.Extensive documentation includes the original - owners manual, maintenance record book, a Volvo On Call roadside assistance booklet and membership card, factory alarm key card, warranty information booklet, dealer directory, maintenance service chart, oil quality information, stereo equalizer operating instructions and stereo owners manual.
