Chevrolet Business Coupé 1950

Allgemeine Beschreibung : Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer something a bit different. This 1950 Chevrolet 2 door Styleline Deluxe Business Coupe wears a slightly different finish than most street rods you'll find. This exterior finish was painted by nature and many years sitting in the Texas sun. "Rat Rods" or patina finished hot rods are becoming quite popular. There are paint shops that are faking surface rust and intentionally scuffing paint to emulate age. This car is not that. This is a 1950 Chevy which has been naturally weathered on the exterior and has the type of finish other people are trying to copy. Don't let the exterior make you think this is a rusty car, the floors, frame, trunk, and body panels are nice and solid as the car spent most of its life in sunny Texas. The car was scooped up by a hot rod shop out of Springfield Illinois and converted into the machine you see today. The car has received a new drive train which features a 350 CID V8 Chevy engine and a TH350 automatic transmission. The old 6 volt system has been ditched for a more reliable 12 volt system, but the original gauges have been converted and still function as they should. A new Painless wiring harness keeps everything safe and reliable. The suspension has fully modernized with a Mustang II front end which gives you power front disc brakes and power rack and pinion steering. The car still keeps the classic look on the exterior riding on new Coker Classic wide white wall tires. Though the paint finish is dull, the chrome is in great shape and features new bumpers front and rear. It wears fender skirts and Triple Lakes side pipes for a cool 1950's look. The exhaust exits in the rear through glass pack mufflers which gives a nice snappy exhaust note. The interior is all new and rather beautiful. It's all custom white vinyl upholstery including a white headliner. The dash is stock including the gauges, but there is a Sony stereo in the glove box. An Ididit tilt steering column holds a 1959 Chevy steering wheel. This is a unique build that was done right. Take it to shows, drive it on the Power Tour, heck drive it to work every day.
