Description : Gateway Classic cars is proud to digitally to present this amazing Full body and Mechanical Restoration 1979 Fiat Spider 2000.
The whole car was dismantled for the restoration, the bare chassis was repaired where necessary, only a small amount of corrosion was present, and the body was completely stripped, primed, and repainted to show standards. The ugly factory rubber beam style bumpers were removed and the apertures in the body were filled to give a smooth body line.
All Mechanical Items were refurbished (Engine and Transmission), all ancillaries were replaced, water pump, etc. and she was converted to an Automatic Carb to eliminate the troublesome Fuel Injection. Electronic ignition and a new distributor were added. The fuel system was completely replaced from the tank forward. All new cooling hoses and radiator were added and a thermo controlled electric cooling fan added. The Brakes, lines and hydraulics, suspension is all new and a new set of minilite style wheels and Tires.
The interior was also completely refurbished using new wood, carpets, seats and all trim and rubber components, heat and noise shielding has been used in all the interior area. A fabric roof was also fitted. She has the benefit of an alarm system with remote actuated door locks using the key fob. A modern audio system with connectivity is fitted.
Basically, the car has been restored with the addition of sensible upgrades to make a usable classic car. She drives beautifully and she runs cool and normal. She now has around 900 miles since the build and is ready to go to her next owner. So, call today before this amazing example of a properly restored sports car is gone.
