This 1958 Chevrolet Impala is an extra-sleek V8 classic. Every time you take this hardtop out in the sunshine it's going to impress you. The glossy black paint with white roof and coordinating whitewall tires has a radiance about it. This glow is because there has been a nice recent investment in a full restoration. This car was sold new in Amarillo, and it appears to have lived there for nearly a half-century. The majority of that may have even been off the road considering it went unregistered for decades. When it finally came time to have a new owner, it was taken to Arizona for a full professional restoration. The car is a visual delight with awesome details everywhere you look. Check out the chrome grille that runs from end to end that leads the way for this lower, wider, and longer '58 Chevy. And all the panels line up nicely so that the full-length side trim appears like an unbroken line. There are also all the best classic cruiser pieces, like dual aerials, rear fender skirts, and a continental kit. It's amazing something so intricate would be a one-year-only design. But it's this rarity and distinction that keep the '58 a sought-after coupe in the market.
Tri-tone interiors were this Impala's calling card, and the white, black, and turquoise is a nicely restored example of a factory-correct package. Everything from the bright insert in the door panel, to the tight headliner appears nicely presented. There's even a collapsible armrest so that the rear passengers can make the most out of this full-size coupe. Up front there are the classic pieces like the bright dash and artful steering wheel. Because this is a rare power windows car, you don't even need to leave the driver's seat to show off the full pillarless hardtop profile. And thanks to air conditioning you can do this in the summertime and remain feeling as cool as you look!
We cherish the 1958 cars not only for their exclusive looks, but also because they introduced us to big block power in the passenger cars. The 348 cubic-inch V8 is an instant standout with the bold orange radiating around the clean and dark engine bay. And as you look closer, you can see the restoration was all about making everything look fresh while staying as correct as possible, right down to the Delco generator. In fact, this is a year-correct motor that shows all the right signs of being original to the car! There are two ways to look at this setup. It's a true all-day cruiser with power steering and strong power brakes, and it has even been updated to a 700R4 transmission with highway-friendly overdrive. Or if you want to get extra attention on the boulevard, you can just remove the caps on the cutout side pipes and let this big block really bring the attention-grabbing thunder. No matter which way you motor, you're going to likely be putting a mirror under this one, because the comprehensive restoration even made sure the undercarriage was extra tidy.
