General description : 1950 Alvis TA14 Drophead Coupe

For sale, beautiful Alvis TA14 Drophead Coupe with a Tickford body built in 1950, performed in the chic color dark blue on Ivory white combined with a blue leather interior.

In total, 3.311 units were built between 1946 and 1950. Equipped with a 1.842cc four-cylinder line engine (65HP) with a 4-speed manual transmission and hydraulic brakes.This car has been registered in the Netherlands since 1977 and was in the possession of a enthusiast for the last 12 years. Maintenance was regularly performed by Alvis Specialist Wim van Ginhoven, the last service was done in 2017. An original instruction booklet and parts catalog are present.

The Alvis TA14 is the first post-war model that Alvis put on the market after the second world war. The complete factory was completely destroyed on Thursday, November 14th 1940 and in 1946 the production was restarted. Alvis was founded by Thomas George John and G.P. de Freville. In 1920, the first cars were built under the name Alvis and 47 years later the brand Alvis came to an end with the incorporation at the British Leyland concern where it became part of Rover. The cars of Alvis were qualitative and with excellent quality finish and were very fast. Alvis developed and manufactured many parts under its own management. The production was small-scale and exclusive.
