AMC Javelin SST 360 V8 1970

General description : Description
Yes, you are looking at the rare single-year style 1970 AMC Javelin SST. But if that wasn't tantalizing enough, this one is has proper V8 power, four-on-the-floor, an A/C interior, and one of the coolest colors around.
AMC gave the Javelin a facelift in 1970 that is exclusive to this model year. That makes a genuine SST like this pretty darn rare (only about 19,700 produced.) But the coupe's desirability goes beyond just rarity. That vibrant paint that immediately grabs your attention also has a name that you'll love to tell people. This was upgraded to AMC's special Big Bad Green later in life, and so it still gives off a nice shine to go with the dayglow radiance. It gives this muscle car an added aggression that is continued on the hood scoops, wide chin spoiler, large rear spoiler, dual exhaust tips, and upgraded competition-style American Racing Torq Thrust wheels.
A black interior always look great on muscle cars, and you can tell there was a nice investment made here. The door panels, headliner, and carpeting are all in excellent condition. And this has all the right vintage touches like the wood paneling on the doors and dash. And we especially love the front seats. You can tell it's a quality piece. It has the classic setup where you have comfy high-back buckets with an armrest in the middle, but fold it up, and you have the classic middle seat. Best of all, the air conditioning is blowing cold with modern R134a refrigerant. So this hot green coupe is also a cool cruiser. And because this is built to be a driver, you'll appreciate the grippy AMC sports steering wheel, upgraded SunPro readouts integrated into the dash, and the Hurst shifter.
Under the hood is proper AMC power. The 360 cubic-inch V8 was such a long-standing powerhouse that it outlived the AMC brand. It's nicely detailed here with everything from bright valve covers to the correct decals. It inhales deeply with a four-barrel carburetor, and long tube headers let this exhale with power while also adding to the rumble of the dual exhaust. This is a solid driver, and you get to take firm control with the four-speed manual transmission. Add in power steering, power brakes with discs up front, and wide BF Goodrich T/As, and this Javelin SST is a fine all-around driver.
This Javelin is rare, fun, and interesting, which is why we know a car of this quality won't stay with us long. Call now!
