Bentley Azure 6.5L Turbo V8 1998

General description : 1998 Bentley Azure Convertible The Bentley Motor Company was founded in 1919 and located in Northern London.  They would go on to be one of the top of the line Luxury automobiles ever produced.  Thanks to the Bentley Boys who favored Bentley vehicles the Bentley also left a legacy of winning the 24 hours Lemans race for 4 consecutive years between 1927 and 1930.  Bentley went through a lot of evolution over time at one point joining forces and then separating from Rolls Royce until they were ultimately acquired by the Volkswagen Group in 1998.  When the 80's arrived Bentley decided it wanted to rekindle its high performance heritage which resulted in their popularity and desirability returning in full force.  In 1995 the Bentley Azure Continental R convertible was introduced and was Bentley’s flagship 2 door convertible Grand Tourer model.  MSRP was $347,645 new and these were released in limited production with only 209 put out in 1998.  This 1998 has been extremely well cared for since new and has 70,932 original miles.  The car spent a majority of its life in Southern California, Oklahoma and Texas.  In the last 5 years it has only been driven approximately 5,000 miles.  The body is in great shape and painted in a very nice White paint with a very slick finish.  That is combined with a nice Tan power convertible top that raises and lowers with ease.  The car rides on its original 17 inch wheels which are in great shape as well.  The car runs down the road thanks to the powerful Stalwart 6.75 liter Turbo V8 motor.  It utilizes a single intercooled Garrett turbo charger and the car runs great, plus is very quick for a vehicle of its size.  It always receives all needed maintenance and tune-ups.  It is combined with a 4L80E automatic transmission that shifts smoothly.  These cars just glide down the road, as you would expect from one of the worlds highest level luxury cars, while also offering a high performance response when you put your foot into it.  It is packed with all the power luxury options you could ask for and all are working properly.  The interior of the car is remarkably clean with very high quality Tan leather throughout.  Everything is in great condition including the front and rear bucket seats. It is all stock except for the addition of an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo with Aux, USB, and Bluetooth connections.  It even has all of its original woodgrain trim which looks just as good as the rest.  From the stitching on the seats to the chrome accents everything is of the highest quality.  The trunk appears to rarely have been used and is fully carpeted.  These Bentleys continue to be king of the road when it comes to luxury and this one is being offered up at a fraction of what it would have cost you to purchase originally.  It is a beautiful example of one of these cars and with how well it has been maintained it is sure to have a long life ahead of it. This is a lot of car with a ton of features for only $65,000.00!

About Bentley
Before becoming a mere subsidiary to Rolls-Royce, Bentley was an independent Automaker famous for the "fastest lorries in the world" e.i Bentley 4½ Litre.

Good ol' Bentley boys (A group of wealthy British motorists, mainly Woolf Barnato, Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin, steeplechaser George Duller, aviator Glen Kidston, S.C.H. "Sammy" Davis, and Dr Dudley Benjafield ) -in their trusty Bentley cars- took four consecutive victories at 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930

In 1931 Bentley was taken over British Central Equitable Trust that later proved to be a front for Rolls-Royce Limited. Unhappy with his role at Rolls-Royce, W.O. Bentley left the company when his contract expired in 1935 duly joining Lagonda. This was beginning of which ultimately led Bentley cars to become more or less badge-engineered Rolls-Royce.
