Simply Incredible, Unmolested 1975 BMW 2002 Sedan
New to our Pleasanton showroom is this highly impressive 1975 BMW 2002 2 Door Sedan with Malaga Red exterior paint, a truly immaculate tan vinyl interior and a manual sunroof. This exceedingly rare, unmolested example features a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine under the hood with a 4-speed manual transmission, As a nicely optioned example with excellent provenance and superior ride quality, this is simply a stunning example that collectors will truly appreciate once they see it in person.
Pampered & Enjoyed by Original Owner Until 2015
Truth be told, the current owner of this beautiful 1975 BMW 2002 Sedan spent years looking for an example of this caliber and is hesitant to part ways with it.  He informs us that it remained with the original owner from 1975 to 2015 as a 100% original and this example was painstakingly restored back to like-new, factory condition in 1987.  The current owner did recently add a Weber 38/38 carburetor for extra performance and completed some light refreshing in the interior (new foam for OEM front seating, Pioneer Bluetooth stereo).  The factory carburetor and air cleaner will be included with the sale of this classic, however, and this is easily one of the premiere examples nationwide.
In terms of present condition, this 1975 BMW 2002 Sedan appears that it could have been restored only a few years ago instead of in 1987.  The factory correct paint is pristine with excellent gloss and finish while the unblemished chrome and trim truly stand out.  The factory dashboard shows no cracks as is so common with these examples and it’s simply immaculate throughout.  Even the engine bay resembles factory new condition besides the aforementioned carburetor upgrade and electronic ignition.
This 1975 BMW 2002 is an example that could be driven on a long trip tomorrow without worry because of the levels of care and commitment over the past 45 years.  It may sound cliché, but this example was truly loved throughout its life and the current owner hopes it finds a similar new home where it will remain appreciated & unmolested.
An Exceedingly Rare Find on a Highly Desirable Classic
Overall, this 1975 BMW 2002 2 Door Sedan is likely one of the cleanest, most original examples nationwide and there’s simply no guesswork regarding its authenticity.  This description does not do this beautiful classic justice due to the incredible levels of care it’s received over the past 45+ years- you must see it in person to truly appreciate the incredible value.  For more information about this vehicle, visit our Pleasanton, California showroom, give us a call at 925-484-2262, or email us at Sales@SpecialtySales.com.  Be sure to mention Stock # P10598 as well.

Bayerische Motoren Werke, commonly known as BMW, has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1916. Initially established as an aircraft-engine manufacturer during World War I, BMW faced restrictions on aircraft production after the war. In response, the company shifted its focus to motorcycle production in 1923, marking the beginning of its involvement in the automotive industry. Subsequently, BMW entered the world of automobiles in 1928 by producing the DIXI, essentially a licensed version of the Austin 7 from the Austin Motor Company.

In the 1930s, BMW began to establish itself as a manufacturer of elegant and high-performance vehicles. One notable model from this era is the BMW 327, introduced in 1937. The 327 was available as both a coupe and a cabriolet, showcasing the brand's commitment to luxury and style. Additionally, BMW achieved success in sports car racing during this period, particularly with the BMW 328. The 328, which debuted in 1936, became renowned for its performance and aerodynamics. BMW campaigned the 328 in various racing events, including the prestigious Mille Miglia, where the company introduced several aerodynamic specials.

The post-war era proved challenging for BMW, and the company faced financial difficulties that nearly led to bankruptcy. However, BMW managed to recover and rebuild, eventually becoming one of the leading premium automotive brands globally.

As the 1960s unfolded, BMW further solidified its reputation for producing sports-oriented and luxurious vehicles. In 1968, the BMW 2002 was introduced, marking the birth of the "New Class" of compact, sporty sedans. The 2002 gained popularity for its agile handling and performance, laying the foundation for BMW's sporty image.

Moving into the 1970s, BMW expanded its lineup with the introduction of the E9 platform, which included the iconic BMW 3.0 CS coupe. The E9 series showcased BMW's commitment to blending performance and luxury. In 1972, the M1, BMW's first mid-engined sports car, made its debut. The M1 was initially developed as a racing car but later became a road-going model. The M1 laid the groundwork for BMW's high-performance M series.

In the late 1970s, the BMW E24 6 Series was introduced, offering a combination of luxury and performance. The 6 Series included models like the 630CS, 633CSi, and 635CSi, becoming a symbol of sophistication and driving pleasure.

Through these milestones and a commitment to innovation and performance, BMW has evolved into a powerhouse in the automotive industry, maintaining its status as one of the leading premium brands worldwide.
