Chevrolet 210 383 Stroker 1957

General description : 1957 Chevrolet Sedan There is no vehicle that personifies the 50s more than a 57 Chevy.  They are the iconic 50s classic especially when painted in their bright colors like the cool 57 you see here.  This car underwent a rotisserie restoration that was completed 8 years ago.  During the process it was entirely redone from top to bottom which included getting new floors.  It is 210 car but has been fitted with the Bel Air trim.  All of the chrome and stainless is in good condition with a nice shine.  The body is very solid and painted in a nice Turquoise paint.  It is a really pretty shade of blue that pops nicely on this car.  The glass is all tinted and in good condition.  Looking it over there really aren't any weak areas on this car.  It rides on Centerline wheels which look great and give it a nice custom touch. From the outside there isn't much besides the wheels that would indicate this car has any major customizations.  That is of course until you look from the back and realize this things been mini tubbed!  Pop the hood and in place of the tame stock 283 now sits a built up 383 stroker.  These motors offer lots of power and really takes this 57 up a notch.  The motor has been fitted with a FiTech fuel injection system, Blacked out valve covers, a chrome air cleaner and an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake.  The firewall was painted to match the body but the inner fenders and radiator support are done in White which gives it a nice contrast.  Behind the motor is a Tremec 5 speed transmission that has no issues.  It is a very fun car to drive and is set up to be pretty quick around town.  In back is a Ford 9 inch rear end with 4:11 gears.  While that definitely effects your high end cruising speed the car still can roll down the highway at 70mph taching around 2600 rpm.  It has disc brakes throughout and the suspension was reworked as well with a 4 link, drop spindles and coil overs.  The interior is all new and was redone in Turquoise ultra leather.  The split bench seat has white accents as does the door panels.  After market seat belts have been added for extra safety and has 3 point belts in front with lap belts in the back.  The dash has mostly the stock layout but a Kenwood AM/FM/Casette player has been added as well as AC, a Pro Comp 2 Ultra Light tach, and an underdash set of gauges.  Other cool features include the aftermarket steering wheel, tilt column and the long arm shifter routed through the floor.  This 57 is a very nicely built car and is much more of a hot rod than you would think at first glance.  Stock 57s are neat but if you love driving just as much as you love hanging at the car show this one is set up to put a big smile on your face.  This car has been SOLD!  Please check out our other ads!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
