Chevrolet Bel Air 1956

General description : 1956 Chevrolet Belair   This 1956 Chevrolet Belair has a great look and runs extremely well.  It was completely frame off restored in May 2006 by Murphy's Classics where every component was gone through and replaced.  The body is solid and the car is coated in a Harbor Blue and India Ivory laid down on a white base coat/clear coat.  Being a slightly different Blue than the typical Turquoise gives the car a unique look and paired with the drive train gives it almost a tough muscle car feel.  All of the original style chrome and stainless trim is in place and has a great finish.  The glass is all in great condition and has been topped with a slight tint.  Vintage steel wheels are found on all four corners and are painted to match the car.  They utilizes chrome center hubcaps and are wrapped with wide whitewall tires.  If you thought you were going to pop the hood and be greeted with the same boring stock motor then guess again.  This awesome machine is powered up via the 350 Ram Jet V8 motor that roars to life with just a turn of the key.  It has a very tough sound with ceramic coated headers and dual exhaust but can get even tougher with just a flip of a switch.  Electronic cut outs are in place so you can have the exhaust system closed or opened based on how many heads you feel like turning your way.  The Ram Jet system not only adds performance but gives the engine a custom look as well.  Chrome Chevrolet valve covers are in place as well as a  billet March pulley system to help give everything under the hood a nice clean appearance.  Completing the drive train is the T-10 4 speed transmission and Moser Positrac rear end.  It has been fitted with 3.90 gears as well as disc brakes which you will also find up front.  Heating issues in this car is never a concern with the aluminum Griffin radiator always keeping it cool.  The ride of the car is comfortable and this is partially provided by the Tubular A arms found up front.   Other nice additions to the car include the 605 Quick steering box for improved steering.  The interior of the car has a very classic look utilizing mostly original components.  It is what is known as the Delray interior and the only major addition would be the fully chromed long arm shifter mounted to the floor.  The bench seats are all fitted with seat belts and the two tone vinyl creates a great look.  Custom Rods gauges are mounted to the dash and allow you to put all of your gauges into the original 56 Belair housing.  A polished tilt column is in place and is topped with an original style steering wheel that was painted to match the car.   The trunk of this classic is in good condition as well being painted all White and topped with a rubberized mat for protection.  This is where you will also find the spare tire with custom Black cover.    Own the classic you always wanted for  NOW REDUCED DOWN TO $44,500.00!
