Chevrolet C20 283 V8 1965

General description : Description
This incredible 1965 Chevrolet C20 pickup is one of those vehicles that was built by a guy who was incredible detail-oriented. A machinist built it for himself, which means it's beautifully finished to a very high standard, yet the affordable price is all out of proportion to the quality. With only 16,068 miles on the build and lots care and maintenance on this custom yellow long-bed ever since, this is one of the very best trucks we've ever featured, and it's full of all the goodies car guys just love. It surely won't last long.
The screaming Corvette Millennium Yellow paint makes the vintage Chevy hauler look sporting and accentuates the many interesting curves and shapes in the C20's sheetmetal. Yes, this is a ¾-ton pickup, but the proportions are the same as a half-ton, so it looks cool but can work that much harder. Paint and bodywork are exceptionally nice, particularly for a truck, and someone obviously spent a lot of time and effort making it look right. Many of the moldings and trim pieces were removed, a roll pan was installed out back, and the stake pockets on the bed were filled, all of which give it a very smooth, sleek look. And to counter all that bright yellow, a set of custom white stripes were added to the hood and side of the bed out back, and we must admit that adding those was a great call. This truck looks slick! All the bright trim that remains is new to the build, including the grille, front bumper, cab sails, and even the Euro-style headlights, which are modern high-output units that fit perfectly. You'll note that the bed is filled with beautiful hickory wood planks and stainless rub strips that were buffed and polished to a blinding standard, and the taillights and backup lights under the rollpan are now LEDs. And while you're admiring the view from behind, just take a moment to note just how seamless the bodywork really is; vehicles don't get this nice by accident.
The interior is sumptuous by pickup truck standards and looks so bright and clean that you'll want to change your clothes before you get in. Just about everything is new to the build, including the bright white vinyl seat cover, the matching door panels, and the polished tilt steering column with leather-wrapped billet wheel. Underfoot, you'll get fresh black carpets and plenty of sound-deadening material and the factory instrument panel is replaced by a custom billet piece with a full array of Auto Meter gauges inside. A Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo powers a set of 200-watt Undercover speakers and an 8-inch subwoofer under the seat. There's a Garmin Navi unit right next to the control module for the Holley EFI system, and there are LED interior lights throughout the cab. Just about everything is new, from the seals and weather-stripping to the gas tank behind the seat and it's all just beautifully finished. Did I mention how shocked I am by this truck's affordable price tag?
The engine is the original, numbers-matching 283 cubic inch V8, which has been fully rebuilt with a few upgrades to make it super fun out on the road. There's a mild cam inside, an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold and Holley Sniper EFI system, both finished in Endurashine so they look awesome, plus a set of Hooker ceramic-coated long-tube headers to help make some torque. A custom orange powder coated dress-up kit complements the Chevy Orange engine block and braided hoses give it a racy look. Just about everything here is new, too, including the alternator, water pump, fuel pump, the Summit aluminum radiator and dual electric fans, the complete American Auto wiring harness, and even the engine mounts. It's backed by a fresh, dyno-tested Phoenix 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission whose overdrive gear and torque convertor makes even the 4.11 gears out back seem comfortable on the highway. A custom one-piece drive shaft, air shocks, power steering and front disc brakes, and a 2.5-inch lowering job make it more muscle car than pickup truck, yet it still carries its original 8-lug hubs and doesn't mind carrying a load now and then. Gorgeous chrome 20-inch Pacer wheels fill the fenders and carry 275/45/20 radials, adding just the right look.
Incredibly well-finished, totally sorted out, and ready to enjoy, this is the kind of resto-mod pickup we love most. Check out the quality, the features, and the price, and we guarantee you'll take this truck home today. Call now!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
