The international race of Champions or IROC series was designed to see who was the best driver, not the best crew chief or engine builder by putting NASCAR drivers into almost stock cars and turning them loose on the track. It did not take the founders of the IROC series to recognize the Camaro as the perfect car for this purpose. This 1989 IROC Camaro appears to be bone stock and very well taken care of. I rarely start a description of a car by talking about the interior but sitting in this car the only thing to give away the fact that it is not new is the Kenwood AM/FM CD player. Looking under the hood you will not find headers and a cold air system but instead the factory equipment and still when you twist the key you are greeted to a sweet purr. I found out this is due to the 3-inch customer exhaust. The 5.0 Liter HO V8 under the hood is ready for a couple of laps around Daytona or just a drive to Daytona beach. This HO 305 is backed by a 5-speed manual transmission and limited slip 10 bolt rear axle housing 3.45:1 gear set. The exterior is a very bright and clean deep red that shows a very high gloss and was sprayed on in 2016 and still looks great. So, gather up some friends and get a couple of these to finally end that long unsettled question, who is the best driver, by the way, it's me.
