Chevrolet Camaro 350 V8 1970

General description : BUILT ZZ1 350, 3-SPEED AUTO, 10-BOLT REAR, 3.73 GEARS, LOW-PROFILE PAINT, STREET

Combat-ready, this 1970 Camaro is an excellent blend of performance, good looks, and price. Clearly the money was spent in the right places, because it's blisteringly fast and completely bulletproof, and the low-profile paint job helps keep it on the good side of the law.
The second-generation Camaro has long been a favorite of guys who like to go fast and look good doing it. The dramatic F-body looks good no matter what you do to it, but it's especially pleasing when just permitted to be itself. Without even so much as a rear spoiler (although one is included and it's already been painted to match), the sleek lines look awesome on this car. Sheetmetal is clean with good gaps, but the focus wasn't entirely on cosmetics, and it's even possible that the subtle Jade Green paint was selected for its calming qualities. A lot of guys will roll up on this Camaro without a second thought, then get stomped into the ground by its race-proven drivetrain, and the look is definitely part of the plan. The center-mounted grille flanked by slender bumperettes is a favorite look, and it's almost a certainty that the round taillights were inspired by its big brother, the Corvette.
We're fairly certain that's the original green interior, and not only is it an unusual color, but it remains in great condition, particularly now that it's more than 40 years old. It'll be like coming home for most Camaro fans, with familiar buckets up front and a split rear bench, and the wrap-around instrument panel was an impressive addition for 1970. The basic factory gauges remain in the dash, but given this car's hardware investment, they wisely installed a set of auxiliary gauges in the center console and a tach on the side of the instrument cluster. A horseshoe shifter looks as good here as it ever did on any other GM product, and the steering wheel is a neat leather-wrapped unit that feels great in your hands. Entertainment comes from both the pedal under your right foot and an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo in the dash with a powerful subwoofer mounted in the trunk.
This car's best features are underneath, where there's a built ZZ1 350 with 4-bolt mains, a forged crank, and GM "pink" rods. Fresh pistons, aluminum heads from an L98 Corvette, and a full roller valve train ensure reliability and performance. Everything about this motor is race-grade, from the windage tray to the Holley Street Avenger carburetor up top. Long-tube FlowTech headers dump into a dual exhaust system that rumbles enough to let folks know this isn't some stock Camaro. A built TH350 3-speed automatic has been fortified with a custom shift kit, upgraded bands, and a 3200 RPM stall converter. Out back, there's a brand new 10-bolt rear with 3.73s spinning on an Auburn limited slip, so you know you'll never break this one. The suspension is stock save for the traction bars and some polyurethane bushings, which you'll appreciate with 410 horsepower on tap. Polished aluminum Cragar wheels are a track-ready look, and wear 205/75/15 front and 275/60/15 rear tires.
Subtle and seriously fast, this street/strip Camaro delivers in all the areas that really matter to a true performance fan. Call today!
