Behind the 5.7L LT1 V8 in this Impala is a 4-speed automatic transmission. When the 1994 Impala SS was introduced, you could have it in any color you wanted, if you wanted black; but for 1995 and 1996, Chevrolet added two more colors: Dark Cherry, and Dark Green Gray Metallic (DGGM). In its final year, roughly 1/4 of these cars were DGGM, so this color is the rarest of the three. These cars are essentially manufactured sleepers, as most people would not expect them to pack the punch that they do.
