Description : Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to offer this stunning 1983 Pontiac Firebird for sale. This multiple show award winner masterfully blends classic design with modern performance enhancements. Its captivating candy red exterior that brilliantly highlights its sleek, aerodynamic lines, making it a true head-turner on the road. The paint is 4 coats of candy red over gold metallic, followed by multiple coats of clear to really make it pop. The pop-up headlights have been blended into the hood, which was then lowered to the bumper's edge. Headlights from a 1989 Chevy truck were moved to the leading edge of the bumper, and the character slits for the original headlights are filled with LED lights from Keep It Kleen. A hand-built rear bumper fascia features 4 taillights from a 1983 Firebird, arranged in a vertical mirror pattern, creating a very custom look.

Speaking of custom, this Firebird has clearly been extensively customized. Up front, the stock suspension features a modified K-member to accommodate the new drivetrain configuration. Subframe connectors were added, to allow the back-halved rear setup to better integrate with the unibody. The rear wheel wells were tubbed, necessitating the elimination of the rear seat (but who ever wanted to ride in the back seats of a GM F-Body anyway?), but providing plenty of room for the massive rear tires, along with extra stiffness and support for the Drive Train Specialties custom Ford 9-inch rear end. The rear end features a TractionLoc differential and 3.70:1 gears, and an adjustable 4-link rear suspension with coil-over shocks help this beast hook up when you mash the gas. A new Painless Wiring harness was installed to handle electrical transmission throughout the new architecture, and the GM wiring for the LS3 supports the electronic throttle actuation for instant throttle response. A 15-gallon custom fuel cell from Tanks Inc was installed when the rear was reconfigured.

Step inside to experience a a very custom ivory and brown interior that offers a unique and luxurious ambiance. The interior features a custom dash, modeled after a 1959 Chevrolet's dash, and features ivory-faced instruments by Classic Instruments. The center console is also hand built and features a cupholder behind the handcrafted shift lever. The bucket seats from a 1969 Plymouth Duster are covered with synthetic leather, as are the interior panels, ensuring both comfort and durability, while the tilt steering column provides a tailored driving experience. The driver will also appreciate the wood-rimmed Billet Specialties billet steering wheel, which is patterned to match the wheels. Power windows and a rear defogger add convenience, making every drive enjoyable regardless of the weather.

Under the hood, this Firebird is powered by a 480HP GM Performance Parts 6.2L LS3 V8 engine, delivering substantial power and thrilling performance. This potent engine is paired with a Tremec T5 5-speed manual transmission, offering precise gear shifts and an engaging driving experience. The LS3 is kept cool thanks to the addition of two electric pusher fans and one large electric puller fan for the radiator. The addition of Old Air HVAC ensures a comfortable cabin environment even on the hottest days.

The vehicle sits on custom Billet Specialties aluminum wheels, which are not only aesthetically pleasing but also add a touch of modern flair to the classic design. Wrapping those Billet Specialties wheels are some new Mickey Thompson 29x15.00R20LT radials out back, and new 225/50ZR17 BFG G-Force Comp2 radial tires up front, providing for great grip and stability, and enhancing overall handling. For those who appreciate high-quality sound, the AM/FM/CD radio offers a variety of entertainment options to suit every taste.

This Firebird is equipped with 4-wheel power disc brakes, providing reliable stopping power, while power steering ensures effortless maneuverability. Safety is addressed with the inclusion of seatbelts, offering peace of mind for both the driver and passengers.

This one of a kind 1983 Pontiac Firebird merges iconic style with contemporary upgrades, resulting in a vehicle that delivers both performance and comfort. Whether you're cruising around town, winning trophies at car shows, or hitting the open road, this Firebird promises an exhilarating ownership experience.
