Chevrolet El Camino 5.0L V8 TBI OHV 16V 1987

General description : For sale in our Orlando showroom is a 1987 Chevrolet El Camino. Brought to life due to a note from a farmer's wife requesting "a vehicle to go to church in on Sunday and take the pigs to the market on Monday" the El Camino quickly became a legend. Providing the best of both worlds, the handling and style of a car and the utility and stoutness of a truck it's easy to see why the El Camino took off. The El Camino would see a total of 5 generations or body styles with the 5th and last one running from 1978-1987. This particular El Camino has the Conquista package which upgraded the paint to a nice 2 tone and plusher interior features. Under the hood is the original 305 mated to the original 200R4 overdrive transmission. With the clean car fax showing no accidents it has definitely lived a pampered life. This especially evident when you open the door and the super clean interior reveals itself. The split bench upfront is very clean with fold away armrest only adding to the creature comforts. The ice cold AC will pretty much freeze you out as soon as it comes to life. All in all if you have been looking for an 80's era car that is entering into that next generation collectible but want something a little different this is a good one to consider. Located in our Orlando Showroom this 1987 El Camino can be seen including HD pictures and videos at http://www.GatewayClassicCars.com. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
