This 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS is a high-performance version of the Chevrolet Impala, which was based on the Caprice platform. It was a special edition model that paid homage to the iconic Impala Super Sport (SS) models of the 1960s.
The Impala SS had impressive performance for its time. It could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 7 seconds and had a top speed of approximately 140 mph. Powered by a 5.7-liter LT1 V8 engine, which produces 260 horsepower and 330 lb.-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a THM700 4-speed automatic transmission.
The exterior of the Impala SS featured a more aggressive and sportier look compared to the standard Impala. It has a unique grille, rear spoiler, dual exhaust system, and on this one, 22' inch aluminum wheels.
