Chevrolet Malibu 305 V8 1977

General description : 1977 Chevrolet Malibu Classic The Malibu nameplate was originally introduced in 1964 and started life as a trim level applied to the Chevelle.  It later became its own model in the late 70s with a full redesign.  Malibu proved to be a popular vehicle for Chevrolet, so much so that after it was dropped from the line up in 1983 it was brought back years later in 1997.  The Malibu is still being produced today and after Impala was discontinued in 2020 the Malibu remains as Chevrolets only mid size sedan.  This 1977 Malibu Classic is a pretty unique car with most who are unfamiliar with them labeling it as a Monte Carlo on first glance likely due to the similar stacked style of headlights.  Based on the cars condition and history we believe this car has been a North Texas car since new.  It has been repainted in a nice Bronze Metallic that has a nice shine especially out in the sun.  All of the chrome pieces look great and this was back in an era where big bumpers and large grills were very popular.  All of the glass is good as well with the very cool opera window mounted to the fastback style roof line.  The car has a great stance sitting on a set of 15 inch American racing Torque Thrust wheels that look like new.  They are wrapped with BF Goodrich 55/60R15 tires.  Should you prefer the more original look the car does come with a set of 4 original rally wheels with beauty rings and center caps.  The car has had a ton of various work done to it making it into a great driver.  It is powered by its 305 V8 motor that runs great with no smoking.  It has new motor mounts, a new factory carburetor, new rocker arms, a new high flow oil pump, and new true roller timing chain (double row) and gear.  It really runs out well.  The motor is paired with a Turbo 350 automatic transmission that transfers power back to the 10 bolt rear end with 2:56 gears.  The motor isn't the only thing that has been redone however because it has all new brakes/rotors/pads, new power steering box, new center link, new end links, new ball joints, and new rear springs.  The brakes are power assist and have discs up front.  The AC was also converted over to 134 which is a very nice upgrade to have.  It blows cold and is much easier to get recharged (or do yourself) than it was originally.  The interior on the car is in really great shape throughout.  The front split bench seat has been reupholstered and matches the rest perfectly.  The carpet, door panels, vinyl upholstery, dash and headliner all look good.  The dash has a stock appearance with all of the original gauges, knobs, and even the woodgrain trim.  The only real modification is the AM/FM player with Aux port so you can hook up your phone and play your favorite tunes.  That being said the system used has a very vintage look and the car also comes with its original AM/FM/8 track player that was professionally restored.  The trunk of the car is carpeted and houses the spare as well as original jack and tools.  This Malibu Classic is a really neat car and you just don't see a lot of them out there.  If you are looking for a unique classic at a very competitive price, this might just be the car for you.  This car has been SOLD! About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
