Chevrolet Nomad 1957

General description : Having trouble with the lack of trunk space in your supercharged pavement terror? Need something that'll haul groceries at 150 MPH? Looking for something LS-powered to show those pesky Dodge brothers they ain't the only muscle car outfit in town? If you answered 'yes' to any of those questions, this SEMA-featured Nomad is the decidedly buff, undeniably lust worthy custom you've been dreaming of!
BLUE STAR
Professionally assembled by Port Washington, Wisconsin's Salvaggio Auto Design at a documented cost of $283K, this SEMA-featured Chevy represents a pinnacle of retro performance and, quite frankly, is probably one of the coolest carryalls ever built. The car's House Of Kolor TruBlue pearl is beautifully maintained, stacked with Granite Metallic roof tone to cast spectacular reflections across a raked profile. That profile is traced in $35K of custom Black Chrome, which includes smoothed bumpers, factory mirrors, RainGear wipers and hardware for traditional lighting. While a Cobalt Black Jetbird prominently rides the hood, all other emblems and ornamentation have been tastefully nixed. And it all adds up to one dreamy pavement pounder that's poised to turn heads!
THAT'S VORTECH, NOT VORTEC
Glitz is great but is brawn better! Pop this Chevy's billet-braced hood and you'll find 416 cubic inches of massaged LS3 power. At the top of that all-aluminum beast, a custom air tube locates a remote, reusable filter element in front of a Lysholm 3300 Vortech blower. At the sides of that blower, custom, billet valve covers thread relocated coils across CNC-ported, LSA heads. Those heads, finished with Manley stainless intake valves and Manley Inconel exhaust valves, cap quality Mahle pistons, which push Callies 4340 rods and a Callies 4340 crank. Those pistons frame a hot Comp cam, which bumps requisite Comp lifters above coated shorty headers. Charge comes courtesy of a body-matched alternator, which, along with Cloyes timing components, frames a smooth Wegner Motorsports serpentine drive. Cooling is provided by a beefy Be Cool radiator. And, as expected, no expense was spared on the details, with aesthetic items like billet hood supports complementing functional pieces like tough Clevite bearings.
SEMA ROOTS
Because modern power begets modern motivation, this Chevy's body-matched mill feeds a trusty 4L80E 4-speed that, dressed in a body-matched QuickTime bellhousing, was sourced directly from Bowler. Out back, a fabricated Strange 9-inch spins a posi-traction differential around big, 3.73 gears. The car's old school bones have been swapped for a slick Roadster Shop Fast Track chassis that's constructed of robust boxes and sturdy tubes. Naturally, that modern chassis rides a modern suspension, which cages tough tubular control arms and sporty AFCO coil-overs in heavy duty sway bars. Reactions are quick thanks to power rack-and-pinion steering. A body-matched brake booster charges stainless Russell fluid lines, which clamp serious Wilwood calipers around a quartet of drilled and slotted discs. Large stainless pipes trace matte Granite floors to thread polished SLP mufflers. And at the corners, custom Colorado Custom blades spin 265/35ZR18 Michelin Pilot Sports in front of 335/30ZR18 Michelin Pilot Sports.
APPROPRIATELY CUSTOM
Straight off the assembly line, Chevrolets were pretty spartan. But this classic is long past its days of serving as frugal transportation from point A to point B. Pop the car's doors and you'll find a fully custom cockpit that's right at home stealing the show. Installed by Griffith, Indiana's Customs By Vos, that den begins with tight Daytona Carpet that founds plush bench seats in front of a fully finished cargo hold. In front of those seats, a leather-wrapped dash stretches monochromatic billet around a vintage radio, hidden controls for Vintage Air conditioning and a full array of Classic Instruments telemetry. At the sides of that dash, custom door panels hang billet handles in front of convenient power windows. And in front of the driver, a leather-wrapped steering wheel laps a tilting Flaming River column.
There's no doubt tri-fives, whether Bel Air or Nomad, will remain highly-sought collectibles. And this stunning, SEMA-featured Nomad, combining incredible performance with timeless appeal and outstanding aesthetics, cranks collectability AND exclusivity straight up to 11! About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
